TX: 2 West University UPS drivers robbed of their uniforms
https://www.click2houston.com/news/ups- ... university
West University is a wealthy neighborhood in Houston.
The armed robbers struck as the UPS drivers were in the back sorting packages.
They took only their personal items like money and cell phone. They also wanted their uniforms.
We can only imagine why they wanted their uniforms.
Stay safe, don't open the door.
Mentions race for once.

If I find a UPS/FedEx/etc. driver at my door, I always look for the truck in front of my house. They don’t like to walk, so a genuine driver will have the truck nearby. A fraud could get or fake the uniform, but the truck is harder. Regardless, I’m armed when I answer the door.

Around our town they have a runner on the truck during the busy holiday season. The driver drops the runner off on one street with a hand truck and they deliver one block while the driver delivers the next.
So there may not be a big brown truck by the curb but there should be a hand truck some where.

UPS and FedEx also rent UHaul trucks to augment their fleet. I don't know if they make deliveries using the UHauls, but I believe they do.troglodyte wrote:Around our town they have a runner on the truck during the busy holiday season. Re: TX: 2 West University UPS drivers robbed of their uniforms
UPS came by my house this morning in their usual brown truck of happiness, and there were two dudes in the truck. They had the audacity to drop off the box containing my new Pelican rifle case. The NERVE!

Re: TX: 2 West University UPS drivers robbed of their uniforms
It would not surprise me if they intend to wear the uniforms while they steal packages from peoples' front porches during the holiday package rush. This crime seems to be a rapidly increasing problem. The uniforms would give them an air of legitimacy if they were observed by neighbors carrying packages from houses. They could claim they are retrieving mis-delivered packages.

One of those $3 safety yellow vests works as well.

I’ve also seen them use UHauls to deliver around Livingston

Had UPS delivering packages on our street (in Cypress) yesterday in a Budget rental truck. He parked in the cul-de-sac and walked to the 2-3 houses to deliver.AnglinTexas wrote:flechero wrote:Yes, they routinely use them around here during peak times.
