Geez, Astro, I'm really sorry. I was just trying to help. I didn't mean to make your gun bug worse. ;-) I really do hope you find a good rifle for what you want. The M6 Scout really does look neat.

Then Charter Arms acquired rights to produce it.

Seems like there was one or two others between Charter Arms and Henry.

So it's been a curiosity for 50 years.

I remember seeing the AR-7 in the sears catalog when I was a kid. I am not sure who made it by that time frame, but I always wanted one back then.

This summer, Larry at The Arms Room on FM 518 in League City showed me something similar to what you're describing. They're great guys and friendly. You might want to give them a call. Bill James is the Owner and a real hoot! Good man to do business with. If you want to spend a really fun afternoon, just get him started telling his "gun tales." They also have a great collection of antique guns and other kinds of weapons. We drop in occasionally for coffee and fun talk.

The m6 wins for being a .22/.410 gun, but for size and appearance goes to the Henry.

Gander Mtn usually has them. Priced a little high though.

Ya Gander Mnt. Sucks its only good for one thing....Drooling. Other than that, they screw people on buy backs and their new gun prices are so marked up it's redic.

I didn't see them at the Gander Mountain in Lubbock last weekend. I was actually pretty dissapointed in it. Prices too high, selection poor. I'd rather take a trip to Cabela's in Ft. Worth. They have a pretty darn good holster selection with ton's of mag holders and accessories too. Now you've got me thinking about the little scout rifle in the truck. It would be great with the 4 wheelers!

check with a few folks that own them before you buy, or depend on one for food gathering purposes as a bug out gun. Some will tell you that the polymer/plastic barrel with the thin steel liner doesn't retain its shape well after a few rounds.

I've looked at both the AR7 and the Marlin Papoose. I'll buy a Marlin.

Saw one at Gander Mnt today in Spring. The guy didnt even know what the hell it was, I asked him if they still had the Henry AR-7 in stock...and immiediatley what did he say...."oh no sir those are hard to come by, good luck finding one. Right after that I walked 5ft. over and saw it laying under the revolvers. There's nothing worse than a guy that lies to you, just because he's afraid to tell you that he isn't familar with the model in question...Oh and by the way again like always way over priced.

A link to this showed up in "The High Roads" classifieds today.

Henry AR-7

It's an individual so take all precautions.

He's asking $120 shipped.
