Been looking for the same thing in Houston too. I think they don't have it anymore, most online store said 4-6 weeks lead time or so. they're not even sure.

Let us know if you found it somewhere.

Seems like the hard chrome, when available is going for a premium, some as high as $300 used. Just a suggestion, but you might look at getting a blue model and then having the slide finished in hard nickel by Jack Fuselier. It's $25 plus shipping of the slide, about $35 total.

Very nice offer. I may have that done to my P-11. The guys at KTOG are very helpful.

P3AT

I just bought a used one. It's now my primary carry gun.
Hard to beat the price/potency/size package.

My son just purchased a P3AT with a hard chrome slide and gave it to me as a gift to celebrate the end of my radiation treatments for cancer.

He found it on gunbroker.com, the dealer was http://www.gilbertsguns.com

They have at least one more available as of this afternoon, here's the link:

Check with Cheaper Than Dirt at I35W North at 820. They had several each of the various Kel-Tecs in stock last week, as they usually do. I don't recall if any were hard chrome though.

Nickel P3AT

Post by Landman »

I just had a new blued P3AT nickel plated by Jack Fuselier. He also did a complete fluff & buff and the pistol looks fabulous and shoots great. I highly recommend Jack's work.

Yup,

I had a P-40 a few years back that Kel-Tec could not fix. After several tries, I gave up on them... and sent it to Jack. He sent it back to me nickle plated and running like a champ.

Then... "stupid me" sent the slide in to KT to have night sights installed and the nightmare began. But, I won't go into that again.

Yes, Jack is highly recommended, I have used him to plate parts on other weapons that I own and his work is first rate.

Kel-Tec on the other hand.......................Pfffffffttt!

Flintknapper,

I was thinking about having a P11 nickel plated and then sending it to Keltec for night sights. What did Keltec do to your P40 besides put the sights on? Maybe I shouldn't do this.

Hi Landman,

I will give you the short answer, rather than post another rant about Kel-Tec. If you're interested in reading about my "fiasco".. then search under "Kel-Tec", I am sure it will appear.

In short, I sent my slide to them to have night sights (if you can call them that) installed. They sent it back, sights installed. One of the rear dots had no tritium, and the front was so dim you could only see it in total darkness with the sight inches in front of your face.

I sent it back, they installed a new set. UPS loses (steals) the package, so I never get it back. This not Kel-Tecs fault of course (I am trying to be fair), but they have the duty to initiate the shipping claim. They offer to replace my nickle plated slide, that had also been dehorned, breech-face polished, cocking serrations smoothed and polished....with a PARKERIZED slide.

Of course, I said NO, "That is not what I sent you". Well, it goes on from there. In the end, I have to settle for a refund for the amount of a parkerized P-40.

I am told that Kel-Tecs customer service is much better now. I will never know.

Perhaps their sights and service is improved, I hope you have a good experience.

Shoot safely,

Flint.
