Just curious if you would be willing to meet somewhere halfway or something like that. I am in the Houston area. Also I am looking to spend about 175 if I meet, I would like to see the laser. Also maybe you might post a pic or two which might change my mind on shipping.
Thanks

Re: WTS LaserMax for XD9/40sc
I will try to get some pics up tonight. Did you want to see pics of just the laser assembly or see it in the gun? I don't have in the gun right now. BTW these retail for about $300 new. Here is the website http://lasermax.com/product.php?id=96" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Also my price includes shipping on my dime.

ETA: How does the laser switch work when holstering the weapon? Does it come on when not needed and holstered?

The take down lever get replaced also and it has ambi switch that you push to turn on. Push either way on, center off. Never had a problem with my Comp-Tac Minotaur holster turning it on.

Thanks for the pics Marty, I am definitely interested I just have to justify to my fiance spending more money on my guns because she wants another gun soon too.

Re: WTS LaserMax for XD9/40sc "PICS ADDED"
I am interested, and I am local (Lewisville).
I have not tried this brand, although I have exprience with the CT laser.
It appears as if there is no adjustability to the LaserMax. How well regulated is it as-delivered?

I am sorry, I don't understand your question about how well regulated it is? You are correct there are no adjustments. This assembly takes the place of the guide rod/captive recoil spring assembly.orionengnr wrote:I am interested, and I am local (Lewisville).

If you are refering to where the shot goes in relation to where the laser points? Then shot would be a 1/2" higher than where the laser points because that is approxiamately the center to center distance of the laser to the barrel. Of course the whole assembly moves each time the gun is fired. Does it effect accuracy? Maybe, but I would hate to have to live on the difference. I still shot about 2 to 3 inch group at 3 yards, and about a 7 to 8 inch group 7 yards. I don't do as well at 15 yards but I can get on the paper.

Re: WTS LaserMax for XD9/40sc "PICS ADDED"
My question is, how close to the sights' point of aim is the laser?
To put it another way, if you fire five rounds using iron sights, and then fire five rounds using the laser, do they hit in about the same place?
Is the seven inch group due to the laser? Do you shoot a tighter group with iron sights?
I am used to the Crimson Trace laser, which is very "repeatable" and adjustable as well. But the wife owns a mini-XD9 and I wouldn't mind putting this under the tree in December...

I believe I answered your post with my answer above. For myself there was no difference with iron sights or the laser. I did find my self not really sighting at all with laser just pointing. Makes for faster shots. The bullet went where the laser pointed.

Re: WTS LaserMax for XD9/40sc "PICS ADDED"
Since you choose to cop an attitude, I will be a bit more direct:
No, you did not answer my question at all. What you said was:
One, the laser is such a shot-to-shot variable that POI is within +/- 3.5 inches at 7 yards, (which is atrocious), or;
Two, that 7-8 inch grouping is indicative of your shooting, which is atrocious.
That is why I tried to ask (in a tactful way) how the POI of the laser compared with your use of the same gun with iron sights.
If you shoot the same with irons as you do with the laser, I'd be tempted to buy it and try it. You could use the money for ammo and range time.
If you shoot 1" groups at 7 yards with irons and 7" groups at the same distance with the laser, it would be reasonable to conclude that the LaserMax is poorly designed or executed.
Now, would you like to try again?

Re: WTS LaserMax for XD9/40sc "PICS ADDED"
I am sorry if you think I was "copping a Attitude" I simply did not understand your question. I am a fairly new shooter, having only started about a year ago. I also know that I am a noob on this forum, but I am here to learn. I am sorry my shooting does not meet your standards, but I did qualify for my CHL shooting a 233 out of 250. I and my wife are lots better than when we first started back in September of '09, and yes I understand that I need more practice. I get to the range as often as I can which is 2 to 3 times a month.orionengnr wrote:Since you choose to cop an attitude, I will be a bit more direct:

As far as my shooting I shot a 2-3 inch group without a rest at 3 yards with my XD40SC with or with or without the laser. I still shot a 7" or less group with no rest at 7 yards with or without the laser. That is exactly why I am selling it, it does not seem to help me. I need to work on other things besides using the laser. OK I admit I probably should have tried shooting from a rest, but if you have to use your weapon in defensive situation you won't be shooting from a rest.
Again I am apologize if you feel I came across with attitude that was not my intention in the beginning. But now I feel you are coming across with one. Being critical of my explanation when I really did not understand what you wanted? Being critical of my shooting ability instead of offering suggestions. Using the public forum instead PM for this critism. And Yes I am coming across with a ATTITUDE now!!
Now the bottom line DO YOU WANT the Laser OR NOT??? Either say yes or no. You can report this post to the mods if you like I really DO NOT care!!

Marty--
Yes, given the additional info, I would like to buy it.
I am not offended, once you made your position clear I am fine with that. I apologize for being "like that", and I'll leave it at that.
If you are ever up in the DFW area, I would prefer to do this face to face, if that is okay with you. I attend some of the DFW area gun shows (maybe Mesquite Sunday a.m.), definitely Market Hall although that is a month away.
Let me know what works for you.
