WTS Springfield Armory EMP 9mm...SOLD!

#1

Post by thelurker »

I am selling my only 1911 pistol. It is truly a great gun, but I don’t get any use out of it anymore. I prefer striker-fired guns and am moving in that direction, plus I have too many calibers to worry about.

This gun shoots perfectly and accurately and is a beauty to look at. It comes with 4 mags, the original case and everything that came with it, including the factory holster and mag carrier.

I did have Springfield’s custom shop do a little work on it while I had it in for a minor FTF-feed issue.

The warranty work consisted of: Cut Feed Ramp, Reamed Barrel and Replaced Magazine Springs. After this work was done there were zero issues.

The custom work is as follows:

• Trigger Action Job, Series 70, 4lbs.
• Checker front strap to 25LPI to match MSH
• Undercut front strap, which allows for higher grip on frame. Very nice touch!
• Replace ILS main spring housing with equivalent Ed Brown MSH-25LPI
• Amory coat the entire frame (had to be done because of front strap work)

I am also selling my Milt Sparks Axiom holster along with the dual mag pouch. They are both for a left-handed shooter and are in great shape. The only blemish you can see is on the mag pouch, but otherwise could pass as new. Holster is trimmed in Elephant hide.

I would like to sell this locally (DFW) as a package first, but may consider breaking them up after a while. Thanks for looking and God bless!

I only have one thing to say:
Well maybe two. It's almost enough to make me shoot left-handed.
Good luck on your sale, but I don't think you will need it.

Thanks for the compliments, Bill! Tell you what...you buy it and I'll hand deliver it and teach you how to shoot "south pawed!" :fire

I have only a handful of handguns, including glocks, kahrs, s&w's amongst a couple others and this is by far the nicest shooting gun of them all. Recoil is minimal, fit and finish is fantastic and it carries perfectly. I can conceal the whole package under a t-shirt. Also, I've owned two other Sparks holsters (VMII and 55BN) and this is the most comfortable and concealable holster I've owned. I can conceal this OWB better than the VMII I previously sold.

If anyone wants any additional photos just let me know! I'd like to move this sooner, rather than later so let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks! :txflag:

I forgot to add something about the holster. When I ordered the Axiom, I was planning on having it pull double duty with a 3.5" SA Ultra Compact but never found one in good enough shape before I decided to sell the EMP. So this holster is actually made for a 3.5" 1911. The mag pouch, however, is made specifically for the EMP as the dimensions are different from standard magazines. The extra 1/2 inch does not cause any issues at all and still conceals and retains the weapon perfectly.

Surely there's a lefty out here that is looking for the perfect 1911 carry weapon and holster. Momma always said I was a "special" person being left handed, but man does it make some things difficult...like writing in a spiral notebook, eating with a bunch of righties and trying to sell a left handed holster!

So I'm going to separate this deal to maybe make it more attractive to my right-handed counterparts. I'll sell the pistol by itself for $1,025. That's out the door...no tax, delivery (if local) or ffl fees! That is for a like new EMP with over $400 in custom work. And for anyone that has shot a pistol with a smooth front strap and sweaty hands you should know it can get tricky.

So let's hear it...I feel like I'm talking to myself here. But if it doesn't go then at least my two boys will be happy! :thewave

Thanks for the reply, but right now I'd really rather just cash out on this one. The ONLY trade I'd consider would be a LNIB Glock 23 generation III or later, plus some cash. I have a G22 and love it.

Also, in case everyone missed it. This comes with an extra magazine for a total of 4, which is around a $30 value.

I wish, but I don't get down that direction but very seldom. I don't currently have any plans either. You ever make it to FW or anywhere close?

I would be willing to drive up from Houston Sunday if you think it's feasible. I'm a righty so I wouldn't need the holster.

Hi Bob, if you'd be willing to meet where I-45 comes into downtown Dallas I can do that. Wouldn't be able to get over there until around 2PM. If that works, then I'll consider it SPF.

Congratulations on a great gun!! I have one I think is great. Had one issue when it was new and SA's customer service was fast and friendly.
