WTB Ruger .380 LCP

#1

Post by pbwalker »

I've been trying every Academy around the SAT metro to no avail. I'm looking to stay around the $299 price range that Academy offers if possible.

I'd prefer FTF (SAT or Austin areas) but can work with an FFL if someone is patient and can guide me on the process as I have never done it before. :confused5

Thanks!

Good luck to the $299 price range - the lowest that I have seen is $330 (+tax). Some as high as $425. They are extremely hard to find - and darn near impossible to find at the Academy price.

Probably right...

Anyone selling one at a reasonable price? A buddy just got one at the SAXET Gun Show in SAT for $339.

They are still very difficult to come by, even if you're paying a premium. In a few months from now, they'll be readily available at a decent price. Those (like me) who just can't wait will have to pay quite a premium, or be extremely lucky.

I saw one sell for $295 at the Pasadena gun show Saturday.

Unfortunately, when I saw it, some lucky fellow had the 4473 almost filled out.

I just paid 335+tax with a free box of S&B ammo. :woohoo

Go to a mom & pop gun store and you can probably be put on list to buy 1.

A friend of mine picked one up 3 weeks ago at Gun Doctor in Longview. He had been on their waiting list for a few weeks. The reason it took so long was because a lot of local PD were buying them, and they get bumped to the top of the waiting list.

I have been trying to find one as well with no luck.

try putting your name on a waiting list at the sportsmans warehouse in SA....( list price there is $289)

academy here in the austin area says they will put you on a list but then when you go up there they won't

I saw on a message board the other day that Cabela's had some in stock, in Fort Worth. I called the next morning (8-28) and they had some. They held it for me and when I went in, two others were buying LCP's, too. $299 plus tax.

I just called them for this post and they don't have any right now, but they said that they get a large number of them in their deliveries, unlike Bullet Trap, who get them a few at a time. I would suggest calling on a regular basis until they get some in.

On a side note: This is not a fun gun to fire. I fired 30 rounds and decided that I had had enough. The trigger pull is very long and your hand gets sore, quickly. It is designed to be a small self defense gun and that's what it is. I like how my Glock 30 feels on my hip and will only carry the lcp when I'm in shorts and a t-shirt.
