Well ladies and gents, I got one of the best calls I could of got last night, it was from the wife, who was at Academy, and she said "what was the gun you wanted to get?" That is right, my wife just purchased a handgun for the first time. It is a beaut... .40 cal/14 Rnd Mags. Something to add to the range day when I get back.... Unfortunately it will sit in the box until I get home :cryin

In 20 days or so, we will have an addition to our fire team too. I am exited about that even more. :clapping:

I'm in Austin and the local Academy has the 9mm and 40 in stock, have also seen then in Cabelas.
It is a cliche that most cliches are true, but then like most cliches, that cliche is untrue.

You should be able to find one at any Academy in San Antonio, bought mine at the one on 410/Vance Jackson.

All of my dealing with Bud's havebeen favorable. The listed prices include shipping and you don't pay sales tax. That being said I would pay a few dollars more at a local gunshop if the price was fair.

It’s almost one year exactly that I’ve been carrying my PX4 and thus far it’s been 100% reliable. Like every other Beretta I’ve ever owned. No failures after around 2k rounds, no trigger sting, and one of the softest recoils I’ve felt on a 40. The finish on the slide has done well thus far, have drilled using both leather and kydex holsters and have yet to notice much wear. The polymer frame had a rough line down the center with a few sharp spaces that I have since sanded down; I’m guessing that it is from whatever molding process they use for frame production.

I love it, but then I’m a Beretta fan and my other carry is a 92. Have to get one in 9mm and 45 now. :evil2:

ok I have a question.

what is the real point of having one of these. other than the cool "I've got money to blow" factor.

are they any good for personal defense? why not just get an AR or AK or something.

Not sure what your comment is based on, I priced it at Academy and it (.40 cal) is cheaper ($519.00) than what I paid for my XD 9 SC/light combo almost 2 years ago. As opposed to a H & K, etc.
The reason I am getting it is because of the safety features (wife and I compromise, basically - she said I could get one as long as it had better safety features than my XD, she likes the posable safety) and reliability (I have put lots of abuse on my M9 at work).

TO answer your second question, I dont want an AR or an AK, I want a handgun.

Unless I misunderstand your reply, you have the CX4 Storm (carbine) confused with the PX4 Storm (pistol) this thread is about.

AFCop is interested in the pistol, which I think is an excellent choice of weapon.

Brian, I have one that I do not shoot much. I have put no more than 200 rounds through it and I have at least 5 14-round mags for it. I bought it new and have the box, papers, etc. If interested, I will work up a price for you, no more than what I have in it. I am in Fort Worth. If we can meet somewhere I would do a private sale or we can use FFLs.

Bryan, stay safe! I had not considered selling the PX4 until I saw your post, so I will likely still have it in February if you are interested then.
