OK John & nitrogen. Good idea I will start. May add to this later because I have a couple for sale but also have some that are just here.
1. CTAC for a Govt. 1911 slightly modified. The C-clip in front poked me bad when sitting. Cut off the bottom point. am willing to loan it to anyone who wants to try one. If your gun don't fit wear the holster at home for a while before you spend money. Like it we will work out something. Different gun? Send it back & order yours.
2. Hoffners shirt tucker. 1911, open muzzel, any barrel. Did not like it. Modified it a lot of different ways to try different things I thought might work. Want to experiment? Pay for freight & you rebuild & experiment for a while.
3. Galco 3-slot Cop for fullsize 1911. Shorter will fit. Loan or trade or trade loaners to try different OWB. I would like to experiment a little OWB but will not spend 60.00 to do it. Lets help each other experiment.

longtooth, I have a Galco Yaqui Belt Slide that I don't use much (well, really almost never...), and would be interested in trying out your CTAC.

Wanna trade loaners?

PM me if you're interested.

Good deal John. I would like to know what you have lying around too. Don't you primarily carry OWB?

No... Primarily IWB or pocket, but sometimes use a JAK slide. I know I have an OWB paddle holster from Galco (I think) somewhere that I never use. Most of my stuff will be for Walters or Berettas. I have no 1911 holsters. I also have a barely used Tomcat pocket holster from Don Hume that I might part with. For some reason I prefer the uncle mikes el-cheapo pocket holster. I know I also have a smart carry that I haven't used in a couple of years, but not sure that I want to get rid of it. I may have a few holsters that I have modified or torn spindled and mutilated, but I gave a few away on the Beretta forum last year so I am not sure what is left.

I too like the cheap-o pocket holsters. Made mine for all that I have pocket carried. One thing I am hoping for on this loan for trial is that if someone has an out of daily service holster of a certain brand or type that someone else thinks they want for their gun, they will be willing to loan it knowing there will be no sale. ie Someone thinks they want a CTAC for their Walther. I have the CTAC for 1911. Wont fit. I know there will be no sale but loan it & let them wear it empty around the house for a couple of evenings. That will sure stop the problem of buying one & in 2 day saying "man this is sure not what I wanted" I think all us long timers have had that more often than we wished.

That is where I am on paddle holsters. I would really like to wear one to see what they feel like. No way will I buy one for education. Pre purchase learning might save a lot of money & a lot of unhappy wives especially for the young ones trying to get started in home, family, & CHL. Lets face it, The class & fee expense is minor when you consider the purchase of Quality arm, belt, holster, mag carrier, light, & then do it again for the BUG. Wives get a little unhappy sometimes.

If it happens to be a high dollar rig & someone feels they need a deposit just in case: then OK. Still be willing to loan it out for a while even if it won't fit the gun the borrower has. Longtime member says I would like to try a ________. Another longtime member thinks, I will loan it to him but don't want it to go anywhere else. PM & do it all private. No one else has to know.
