WTS Glock 19 RTF2 $1000

I know my target audience is probably too small here but Ill list anyway.
I have a Glock 19 RTF2 with gills that I bought new back in 2011. I bought it to carry and have carried it very little and shot very little. I'd say less than 500 rounds for sure. The RTF frame is just too rough for me to carry. I do have a talon grip that I put on recently as in last week. It can be removed.
There is one little marking on the slide that I have to photo at a certain angle to see. Comes with 2 mags and everything that came with it except the factory test round. I can't find it.
I prefer FTF in the San Antonio or surrounding area but can ship to FFL if needed,

Quick question. Is there something special about this RTF Glock that is not listed?

I was wondering the same. They're +/- $560 new on some websites.... Are we missing something?

From what I've been able to find out, RTF = Rough Frame Texture; with gills. It's not the common Glock 19 without gills. And as such they command a higher price. How much higher, I have no clue. :???:

Maybe it is the lack of availability. From what I see it was a limited addition.

So the rtf with Gill slide serrations was only produced for about a year and the 19 was one of the least made along with the 23c. I spoke to someone who recently sold theirs for $1k and there's one on gun broker for $1300 now. Will they get it? Don't know. Will I get $1k ? Don't know. But I do know if this gun is worth something I'd rather sell it than beat it up and get something I can beat up. I don't have any use for safe queens. This one is still nice because it's been sitting in its case and rarely carried due to it being rough on the skin when carrying. It's great to shoot. Glock did a re release of rtf Glocks recently but they didn't include the gills on the 19. I like the gills.

Unlikely that it will sell for a nearly 2X premium. That is the beauty of capitalism, you can sell anything you want for any price you like, as long as there is someone willing to pay it.

Best of luck!

This might be the first time I've heard a Glock being referred to as "nice" and a "safe queen."

Or anyone worrying about beating one up.

I meant no disrespect to the seller. I didn’t mean to take this off topic I really was just curious because there is one listed on another local sight with two holsters and night sights for $600.00.

I hope someone will buy at the asking price for the seller. :thumbs2:

$599 on Gun Broker. I had the same questions earlier today, so I looked it up. In the description on that link, it says:
Brand new Glock 19 RTF2 gray frame pistol. This model is rare and hard to find. Color scheme is factory original.
That gun doesn’t have the "fish gill" slide serrations that the OP's gun has, and maybe that bumps up the value some.

And that answers the question! I've never heard of this variant until today. Interesting. Hope you get your asking price. Please forgive the initial skepticism. A lot of us carry Glocks and like them just fine, but you’ve got to admit that the average G19 isn’t worth anything close to $1000, even NIB. I learn something new every day.

The truth of it is, the rarity of a gun increases it's value. Being an original of limited manufacture makes it worth what a collector will pay.

This one may not be worth it either. I just know what I see on gun broker and what another guy recently sold one for. I Knew this forum wouldn't be the most likely place to find a buyer but you never know and Ive sold guns here before and I like this crowd. I bought this gun just because I wanted a 19. Back then nobody wanted these and now they're hard to find and people want em. I didn't know the value was higher until recently and it makes me not want to bang it up, but I want to carry a glock so my goal is to either get this to someone who is wants to collect. (yes there are block collectors) and get myself a regular g19 or 17 to carry. If it turns out its not worth much, then I'll just carry on and keep carrying it. I like it. the fish gills are a nice break from the everyday glock but the RTF part is a little rough so I put the talon grips on it.

If you have the time, Gun Broker is a good place to sell more valuable collector type pistols.
