Cheap ($9.99) pelican style cases at Harbor Freight
These are $9.99 at Harbor Freight. 8-1/2"X5-7/8"X3", pressure relief valve, gasketed, lid is 3/4" deep with waffle foam padding. Bottom has three layers of pick foam over a solid bottom layer. Two lock tabs. I bought some for remote battery boxes for trail cameras and a couple for camping/boat pistol cases. Suitable for compact to medium pistols.

Photos for reference Browning High Power, which barely fits and a S&W 9mm Shield.

I have a couple of these. Not bad especially for less than $10.

That’s not expensive. A sale or everyday price?

The HF regular price is 13 bucks. They always give a comparable price in the emails I get for items. I've bought some inexpensive larger cases similar to Pelican cases, but some were of polyethylene. This HF case is made of polypropylene like Pelican.

These are super appealing to me for some reason, and I keep almost buying them before realizing they'd never get used. None of my handguns need that much protection in transport, and everything I've read says to never store firearms in these long-term because the foam will hold moisture.

I’m in the same boat… I look at them and say wow those are cool and a good deal. Then I think about it and realize I won’t use it either.Odiferous wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 12:48 pm These are super appealing to me for some reason, and I keep almost buying them before realizing they'd never get used. Although the price is nice, I would probably choose to buy similar cases from Pelican or Plano. Although those would be more expensive, they are made in the USA. According to the tag on the pictures posted, the Harbor Freight cases are made in China. I am trying to wean myself away from products made in China when I can identify a suitable alternative.

Probably, but I don't know for sure. You can sign up for notifications. They have coupons for up to 25% off many times.

I agree. We all need to start paying attention to where products we buy are made.Don T wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 9:47 pm Although the price is nice, I would probably choose to buy similar cases from Pelican or Plano. Good to keep a few around if you ever need to sell a pistol and don't have it's case... Add's value to the sale....
