blackpoint tactical holster

#1

Post by TNacp99 »

I wanted to share with everyone a new holster that I picked up, the Leather Wing hybrid (http://www.blackpointtactical.com/shop/leather-wing/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) from blackpoint tactical.
As a background, I have owned the following holsters:
1- Raven concealment
2- X-concealment IWB and OWB
3- G-code IWB and OWB
4- Crossbreed
5- Mitch Rosen

The leather wing hybrid is a nice design and is both rigid and flexible in all the right places. It has leather flaps on the sides with metal buckles where the belt inserts and kydex for the holster part. The leather "wings" are flexible enough to conform to your hip or side no matter where you position the holster. However, the leather flaps are wide enough where they will not give when drawing the holster. The rigidity is in the holster itself which is all kydex. It retains your pistol securely. There is a screw to adjust the tension neat the trigger guard. Price was $85. I purchased it at a new GS (Liberty Armory) that opened up in Houston.

I have been wearing the holster for the past several days and it is very comfortable with the leather wings. It hugs tightly and conceals my G19 very well (see caveat). I love the flexibility of the leather flaps or "Wings" and how it hugs to my side. The kydex is very well made and durable.
Caveat: Major disadvantage is that I have a G19 with a trijicon RMR and the red dot does not fit the holster. It is great for the other G19 without the red dot however. I think a little dremmel action will make this work.
