G19 holster suggestions

#1

Post by LDB415 »

I've been reading threads and I did a search. Search yields many thousands of results, far too many to go through and remain sane. I'm 5'9, 240 so IWB isn't likely to work as well for me as OWB. I'm going to find a good vest for cover. I'm looking for suggestions for good gear at reasonable prices, preferably made in USA. I'm thinking maybe kydex or similar material might be good for the hot, humid Gulf coast area? Thanks for any and all input.

You'll find an overwhelming deluge of suggestions on this query.
I have the tried the following owb holsters:
1- raven concealment
2- Garrett industries
3- x-concealment
4- off the grid concepts
5- comptac
6- G code
7- blackpoint tactical

Of these 7 manufacturers, my favorite is #7. http://www.blackpointtactical.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, specifically their leather wing model.
If you are in houston, then you can try the holster at Liberty Armory on Bellaire blvd.
good luck.

I don't think you should rule out iwb until you try it. There are lots of us big guys that carry that way.

Yeah, I think I'm heading toward the next bigger size pants regardless.

What is RCS?

Raven Concealment System.

NSR Tactical's LLC-4 is a great IWB.
Alessi's CQC-S is a great OWB. (This holster is also easy on/off and you don't have to remove your belt to take it off)

Good stuff, turnaround time has been excellent. I carry G19 IWB in an Archangel - the holster is actually for a G17, but when I got the 19 it worked just as well. Dale does have an Archangel specifically for the G19/23/25/33. I am 5'8", 220. Very happy.

Im pretty close to your size & carry my G19 in an iwb from DM Bullard or owb in a 'mini slide' from Don Hume, both work great but I prefer Bullard's leather most of the time. Plus he's a local TX guy so I like supporting our in state leather makers.
