Re: IWB Holster
I have used the 5.11 and Wilderness Instructor belts for years - and I am still using the original ones I purchased. After many holsters, most IWB, I bought a Raven Concealment OWB and OWB mag pouch. I will never use an IWB again, this OWB is more comfortable and seems to sit closer to the body than my Comp-Tac or Cross Breed IWB.
Spend your money once, but spend on quality. Oh, and get used to the way it feels, it is not going to be comfortable although you do get used to it- there are some trade-offs when carrying a firearm. I wear mine every day and it is second nature now, I do not think twice abut how it feels.

I keep reading all the rave reviews on CompTac holster's . I guess I really wanted to find out if these really are better or , Im just a little too fat to try and tote around this huge weapon . I do love my XD though . I have an LCP I can carry in my pocket , I would just rather carry my XD . I just wanted to hear more before I dropped more money on another holster . I have been looking at OWB holster's . I have found some that I really like but , I wondered about how well they really conceal . I will look into the Raven Concealment .

If you were in Houston I would let you love over mine. So far the people I know that have tried them stopped using IWB.peppergat wrote:mrvmax wrote:I have used the 5.11 and Wilderness Instructor belts for years - and I am still using the original ones I purchased. I would like to check it out . How about Pitbull Holster's ? I have read nothing but good about them , of course , they dont offer one for the xd 45 tactical but , the guy did tell me that he is going to contact springfeild about a mold for them . So , if they start making them , I wanna be first in line . I really dig the Raven holster's but dang , 16 to 18 week's out is a long time . By the way , I did look at the wilderness belts , very nice and very reasonable . I will try one soon .

You are going to need a lot of support for the gun. 5” barrel, 14 rounds of 45ACP, weight 32oz. No matter what holster you are going to use you will need a good belt, invest in it before buying multiple holsters. And if you have a nice belly like me, suspenders.peppergat wrote:I recently purchased an Protuck IWB holster for my XD 45 Tactical and , well , its pretty uncomfortable . lol , I am gonna hold out on suspenders as long as possible . I am looking at belts , there are lots of them out there . I have just been looking at ideas I have gotten from here and just looking at reveiws . I think a lot of the problem I had the other day was the shorts I was wearing . They are really too big for me , even though I was wearing my belt cinched down really good , it just could'nt get them tight enough . I have been using my IWB with my other shorts and , its really been working out good . So , maybe I didnt have a valid complaint to begin with , lol . I am still going too look for an OWB holster and , a better belt .

Re: IWB Holster
I love the products this place makes. Plus its supporting Texas. Which I do every chance I can. Dmbullard gunleather. I have two holzters from there and one belt. Completely worth the money spent. I wear the dual carry model in owb fashion. I disliked iwb alot. Being thin it just dug into me. The gun just fits like a glove one handed reholxter is no prob either. I figure this thing will last a very long time. And the belts are great too. Give it a look. Before you choose.

Re: IWB Holster
Well , After all the trouble and looking here and there and , after all the advice ........ I went a different route all together . A buddy of mine had an almost new SA Milspec 1911 that He was looking to part with so , I swapped Him my XD . With that being said , I did purchase the Wilderness Instructor belt which , I love . This is hands down the best belt I have ever worn . I like the nylon type belts anyway , I have worn the Specops brand for a long time . The Wilderness belts do exactly what they say they will , You cinch it down , it aint moving . I did get an IWB holster for my LCP , I have worn it for awhile now and , I hate it . I am just not an IWB type of Person . I got a Galco Stinger holster for it Friday , I love it ! it conceals pretty well , and its way more comfortable . The SA came with a Don Hume leather belt holster , it really conceals the weapon really well also . I found I can wear it around My 2:30 ish and its comfortable and hidden . I ordered a Pitbull Tactical Holster for it that will be here tomorrow . These come for either IWB or OWB . I will post pics once its here .
