IWB Holster for Taurus 24/7 Pro .45.........Suggestions?

#1

Post by justaguy »

I have a Taurus 24/7 Pro .45, and I just got my CHL about a month ago, so all this IWB and OWB is still new to me. I'm looking for a good IWB holster to fit this gun. Right now I'm using a cheap Uncle Mikes holster for SOB carry, and it works OK, but it's not ideal. I'd like something a little thinner, and with a cant, for side carry IWB.

I'm leaning toward the Crossbreed Supertuck or the MTAC. I'm just wondering if anybody carries this gun/holster combo, and how it works out.

Without a doubt, a Minotaur MTAC from Comp-Tac. I use one for my 3" Kimber, and I have additional holster bodies for it to fit a USP Compact and a 5" Springfield 1911.

I have nearly the same gun, the Taurus 24/7 Pro 9mm, and I picked up the Comp-Tac IWB Pro Undercover Holster:

I really like it! I debated a lot about the other ones that are "tuckable," but realized that for my situation, I usually wear shirts loose and untucked, and am in more situations where I need to disarm/rearm than when I need to tuck a shirt (I work at a University). I like how simple this holster is, how it goes on/comes off quickly from my belt, yet it holds the gun snug, and holds on to the belt snugly when drawing my weapon.

While I don't have the same gun as you, I have the PT145, I would recommend the Crossbreed Supertuck. It will satisfy your needs of adjustable cant. You can also adjust the "ride" height. I started out the same way as you did with a Uncle Mike's holster and finally decided to go with the Crossbreed. The price is good compared to other holsters and the delivery time from when I placed my order was 2 weeks.

Also, I noticed on the Comp-Tac website that there is only a 1 year warranty on their products where the Crossbreed has a lifetime warranty. I hope my advice helps you in your decision.
