Any HBE holster experiences?

I'm lookingfor an IWB for a Commander and found what seems to be a decent deal at HBE Leather works, $79. Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge, good, bad, or indifferent about these holsters?

I know there are some posts about HBE over at this forum:
http://handgunsandammo.proboards.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
in the leather subforum. It has been awhile since I spent much time on that forum, so don't know how current the posts are, but you can search on HBE or Holsters By Eric and probably come up with some. I recall lots of good comments about quality. He hit a patch where he got pretty far behind (I think not uncommon for one-man shop), and some people were not too happy with that, but that has been at least a couple years ago.
Good luck.

I have a HBE tuckable holster. My personal experience with Eric was pleasant. He delivered
on time as promised. Here's a pic of mine:
Things I really like about it? The leather is very thin, but very stiff. It is comfortable to wear. It does a
good job of concealing.
Things I have found that I am not too wild about? The spring steel belt clips. Although they do their job
well, they are a bit too obvious for my current tastes in concealment. No one has ever "outed" me because
of the clips but....... I prefer the "C" type Kydex clips (even though they break sometimes). YMMV
Other than Eric's problems several years ago, now resolved, I've only heard positive things about his work.

His work in social issues got more press than his other gig.

I bought an IWB holster from Eric several years ago, before the "issues" that were discussed on various gun forums. It took forever to arrive (and several emails and phone calls, eventually asking for the holster or a refund), but the workmanship and quality of the holster were absolutely first rate.

Been using this holster for about a year and a half. Similar to VM II. Eric does great work.

Not familiar with that holster, but I do carry the colt commander and love it. I've been carrying it in a DM Bullard Dual Carry holster for over a year now. It tucks away nicely and I can't imagine a holster being any more comfortable with a full size framed weapon inside my waist band than this. It's excellent quality and the price was only $69.95.

I bought one off his already made page. $79 complete for the black leather left hand commander. 22degree cant. This was just about what I was thinking of when I stumbled on it.
Its a great fit. Snap loops are easy to get on and off. Body shield is comfy.
Word from the now wise. Stay out of Academy and Walmart to save a few bucks. By the time I add up all the Uncle Mike type stuff I bought to save money I could have bought something good right off the bat.

This is a common experience. But when you start out and don't know what works and what doesn't, it's tough shell out $80 or $100 for a high quality holster just to find out it doesn't cut the mustard. And I have done that too. Hence, the "holster drawer."
