Cross breed and Galco hybrids
Cross breed and Galco hybrids
Am I the only one that notices the creaking when i walk or sit or shift my weight while wearing this style of holster. is there a way to get rid of the creakiness or do I need to think about looking at all leather IWB. I'm pretty sure I am the only one that notices it in Walmart or Kroger due to the ambient noise and such. I still don't care for it.

Try rubbing some baby powder on the leather underneath the clips

I think it's a leather thing, not because it's a hybrid. At least, we used to have that problem with our saddles and there was no kydex there. Like Longhorn said, baby powder where there's any friction should do the trick.

The baby power worked for me, but only temporary. I went to Wal-Mart and bought some of those felt sticker things and put it on the backs of the clasps. Problem solved.

My Thies holster squeaks a lot, but only when there is a gun in it. I remove the gun and put it in a car vault for work and it is silent all day. I can't figure it out. My wife knows when I'm carrying, I hope others don't figure it out.

The felt should work. Some people suggest oiling the leather just behind the clips also. Others warn that could compromise the strength. Alternately some people put Ace/sports tape on the leather just behind the clips. I have done this and mine no longer creaks. It's not pretty, but it works.

Thanks for the tip. Pretty isn't a requirement for an IWB holster - IMO.xb12s wrote:The felt should work. Some people suggest oiling the leather just behind the clips also. I used bandage tape between the clips and the leather. Problem solved.

Re: Cross breed and Galco hybrids
Finally got around to putting sports tape between the grommets and the leather of my Theis Holster - like magic the squeaks are gone.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the knowledge here.
