Holster Advice

I need some advice. I am looking for a IWB that is extremely comfortable for everyday carry of my glock 27. I am right handed and am looking for something that would be good for maybe a 4 oclock to 5 oclock carry. Any suggestions on which ones i should check out?

I love my Crossbreed Supertuck, with Velcro hooks. It is likely the ugliest, most comfortable holster that I own.

i have heard that about the super tuck and also about the comp tac minitaur. i have looked at both on the internet and they appear kinda large guess i need to just try one one.

Yes you do need to try
They look big, they are big, but the width helps disperse the weight of the gun and helps hide it as well.

My experience with smaller holsters as they are too clumsy and more difficult to use

yeah i would agree. I am still waiting for my chl to go through the ringer but i have been trying some smaller off brand cheapies around the house just to get an idea of what i might like and i have come to the conclusion that as far as holsters go it really seems you get what you pay for.

Have the Supertuck also. Very comfortable once you find the right spot. Drove five hours to Missouri wearing it and five back, hardly noticed it.. I wear it about 97% of the time. One thing I think that's nice about the IWB isvthatvyou don't have to worry about the length of your shirts. Also invest in a good gun belt. Plenty of comments about them in posts

Add your location to your profile and maybe someone in your area will offer to let you play with their box of unused holsters. (seriously)

It's difficult to give holster advice... My body is not your body. My clothing is not your clothing. My work/play/home situation is not yours. A holster that works perfectly for me may be terrible for you... so.. my best suggestion is to plan on trying some out... make friends, it'll save you lots of time.

I really like my supertuck for my Hi-power. However, I would like to have something that is easier to put on and take off. There are times during the week when I need to remove the gun and holster. Having one clip on it would be nice for that reason. However, I may sacrifice something in comfort.

Also, AlienGear looks appealing as a replacement for my supertuck.

i have looked at the alien gear IWB holster for the glock 27 several different times and read reviews as well just almost seems to good to be true. Think that's why i haven't pulled the "trigger" on one yet.

Thankfully I've been able to sell off several expensive ones that didn't work for me and not take too bad a loss.

Honestly (don't tell anyone, ok?), my go-to holster for hot weather carry has been the High Noon Mr. Softy. It's inexpensive, available off the shelf, tuckable, and the steel clip is the best I've seen on any "clip type" holster.. I have two other holsters I use regularly, but that one 'just works" for me. Other folks don't like the low ride or they raise their noses over the thin leather, but, I'm drawn to it simply because it checks all the important boxes ... for me.

It's a good group here. Most "serious" CHLers are, I've found. And the mods here don't stand for much shenanigans.

I think the owner of alien gear is an ex-employee of crossbreed and he is doing all he can to take business from them.

AlienGear hands down winner - best price and quality for this type holster - not to mention warranty, versatility, retention adjustment, shell swap or extra shell.

Kholster is another good one. I prefer their design in Texas summer weather to protect gun from body goo and sweat since gun is fully shielded from body (Crescent, Little or Full Moon leather backing).

However, as one previously posted, recommending holsters for anyone is difficult - you've received some good advice - there are many, many fine holster makers - so either get a box or clean out a drawer for them to reside in as they will multiply. LOL
