No, the amendment to the amendment must be dealt with first.

Papers are being passed around now, so I think they should resume pretty quick.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Charles, I think she wants to increase punishments for those who cannot produce a CHL if asked by LEOs under circumstances which the Huffines amendment would permit.
Now that's just fantastic. :banghead: You forget your wallet and now it's going to be a felony? (It's already a Class A.) Huffines is an idiot and he wants to run for Congress. He fits right in with OCT, Grisham, NAGR/Dudley Brown. Anti-gun Democrats are laughing their tails off.

Chas.
This is Huffman's idea, not Huffine's.
I realize that, but it's Huffines fault.

Chas.
I thought they had to vote Amendment 9 before addressing an amendment-to-the-amendment.

I surmise she is just trying to increase the penalty to persuade people from doing it, realizing this amendment might pass, JMHO

I'm a little slow. How does this change from the way it is now? Just because you can't (or don't) produce your CHL when asked for ID there is no penalty. How does changing the severity of unlicensed carry change this? I can see you may be detained and it may take some time to get straightened out but wouldn't the "no penalty" still apply?
The current law requires you to have your CHL on you if you are carrying. If you don't, you can still be arrested and convicted. It doesn't happen because 1) concealed-carry is a non-issue; and 2) it's a misdemeanor. If it's a felony that's greater incentive to make the arrest (COPs like to make felony arrests) plus it will become law because of the Huffines amendment that LEOs view as a slap in the face.

And if the House doesn't go along with it, and it very well may not, then we could be at an dead end just as we were last session when HB508 went down in flames.

People, I don't think anyone realizes just how urgent this situation is. If HB910 goes down, so does campus-carry. All because an idiot wants to grandstand.

Appears to me that Huffman is doing the grandstanding now.

Some people here think that's his end game. I am inclined to believe them.

So, is this Huffines any relation to the car dealer Huffines? If so, remind me to never buy from them.
