Ooookay.....so if they believe the conceal carry program works off campus why would they oppose conceal carry on campus? What do they think is so different? If they believe it's not a good program to have on campus what do they expect to happen that's different from being out in the general population? What rational argument could they present against campus carry? What stats can they pull from states like Colorado, Utah, and Idaho to argue campus conceal carry isn't working in those states?
Sadly, it will fail to persuade Democrats (largely liberals)....since it is steeped in 'logic'.
Now...if you were to write something oozing with emotion (no matter whether true or not), you might get their attention. ;)

Thanks, if I were a rep debating for CC. I would hammer ever democrat arguing against cc, esp. the ones who are on record for acknowledging the success of CHL program. If they''ve never mentioned the CHL program I'd push them state whether they thought the CHL program was a failure. If they say they thought it's been a failure I'd make the explain why they thought so and remind them that many of their fellow democrats don't agree with their beliefs.
It just seems to me the repulicans ought to be able to command the debate since so many democrats have acknowledged the program's sucess

Because of the misperception of the legislation; the belief that concealed guns aren't presently allowed (they are), and that you'd have immature, overemotional college kids, drunk frat boys and the like waving guns around, ready to shoot the professor if they don't get a good grade, etc.

Ive heard them make those arguments and they were corrected so I don't know if it's misperceptions of talking points
When can we expect a vote on concurrence? I no longer have much interest in who is responsible for the delays etc. My interest for the immediate time period is directed at the status of the different bills that are still alive (especially OC and Campus Carry). After the sessions are over there will be plenty of time who did what on 2A items and react appropriatley.

There are three days at the end of the session when all they're allowed to do is reconcile differences between House and Senate versions of bills and make corrections.
In the House, the 137th day is the last day to concur (unless a conference committee has been requested and then discharged). In the Senate, the 139th day is the last day to concur. As Charles said, those days aren't officially set aside for concurring, but concurrence votes and action on conference committee reports are basically all they're doing those days.

It's not eligible to be heard until 2:40pm. I suppose they could suspend the rules but that seems unlikely to me.
