And if I have all that right, are House and Senate conference votes just up or down? I assume the are still at risk of chubbing or filibustering.

For the an explanation of what "chubbing" is and how it is different that filibustering.....http://www.texastribune.org/2011/02/02/ ... -chubbing/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I always think "chubbing" as meaning something different. :biggrinjester:

1) local, consent and resolutions calendar,
2) catch up on items eligible for consideration (HB910 concurrence vote?),
3) supplemental calendar where I'm sure they will take up postponed business first (3 bills) and then
4) regular order of bills for third reading which puts 2 more bills ahead of SB11.

Of course this is my speculation based on the sequence of events which occurred yesterday in the house.
good morning ...

1) local, consent and resolutions calendar,

Stickland has 5 signatures to remove sb27 from Local Consent Calendar ...

feed

all 5 names removed, SB27 is back ...
moving on ...

I think it was sb27. That's an interesting move and a bit scary if it only takes 5 to take something off the calendar. I'm surprised sb11 and HB910 stayed on the calendar. Like the rule that was used last night in our favor, I wonder what other restrictions are around their use.

I was left wondering the same myself. It seems too easy to delay/kill a bill.

With the way the speaker is flying through the local, consent and resolutions and the way bills are being pulled, is this payback for the attempted filibuster by the dems yesterday?

Wow. Stickland is kicking butt and taking names. He's knocked off at least 3 bills off the local & consent calendar since I've been watching today.
Keep calm and carry.

No. Those are issues that are local to the rep and their district. No one else cares so they just fly through them.

I think they did this yesterday too. They flew through a bunch of bills that didnt' require discussion.

I don't know anything about these bills however they seem to have made it out of committee and have passed all the way through the senate and the 2nd reading in the house. It's interesting that this maneuver is necessary at this stage. I suspect this group is not gaining many allies. I am ignorant on these bills so can't speak to this being a good idea or not.

Is Stickland targeting both D and R bills or just D?
