Enjoy the well deserved rest! Thank you for the education you have provided so many people during this tumultuous session (it isn't over yet) and for the patience you have shown especially with some of us newbies to the process.

I have learned a lot and look forward to what you have hinted about rolling out in the future to educate citizens on the political process and how they can best and most effectively be involved.

Regards,

It depends on whether Gov. Abbott wants to spit in Bloomberg's eye. If he does, then it will be a public signing with great fanfare. (That's my preference.) He could also sign it in private whenever he wishes.

Chas.
I'm thinking maybe he would rather do it without drawing any more attention to it than has already happened. Why give the media more reasons to put down Texas. I don't see Gov. Abbott as a spit in your eye kind of guy. Could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

Thanks for all the hard work!

But does this mean campus carry is a done deal or dead since its rest time?

Darn, stepped away for dinner and miss the finale! Well done for all the hard work put in by everyone and anyone! It will be two years of no open carry for me by the time this kicks in and I am so looking forward to not worrying if something is showing or needs to be moved around! :hurry:

Same here! I thought it wasn't eligible for consideration until 7:40, so we went out for some Texmex. Checked in after dinner and BAM!

Now we just , need to get SB11 across the finish line!!!!

Open carry will soon be the law in Texas
Bill sponsor Craig Estes, R-Wichita Falls, said he was happy with the overall outcome and lauded Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick for pushing a vote on the issue before the last weekend of the session, which ends June 1.

"I don't think that we could have accomplished this without the wisdom and guidance of the lieutenant governor," Estes said ater the bill's passage. He said Patrick made sure the measure got a vote Friday instead of Saturday, when Estes was afraid opponents might be able to kill the bill through a days-long filibuster.
