Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

A Thanks to Austin PD - very professional

Had a "left turn bandit" ruin my afternoon the other day.

No injuries - EMS not requested - but my car is trashed.

Thank goodness all are O.K. - could have been REALLY bad......

Austin PD responded - asked both parties for ID. I showed TDL and CHL then told the officer where "it" was located - as it was not on my person at that moment. He thanked me for being upfront regarding CHL. He did unload and "safegaurd" the sidearm during the proceedings but returned ammo and handgun after all business was attended to.

I will not make negative comments regarding "unarming" a CHL holder as I believe that is up to the officer on scene. As nerves and emotions are usually at a high level in these situations - I would do the same.

Very professional - and appreciated.

And yes, the other party received citations. May my car R.I.P. though.

I'm sorry about your car, but if everyone walks away from the crash scene, insurance takes care of the rest (more or less).
