We were leaving our favorite mexican eatery and noticed the game warden talking to two young guys, so curiosity led us to listen and watch as we walked to our truck.
The game warden had called these two guys over because he saw their pistols....concealed means concealed correct.
He was very polite and fatherly instructed them on the proper concealment.
I give him a BIG attaboy.
He was polite and educational all in one stop.

made me feel good about our county again.

There's no requirement to conceal while hunting.

Perhaps they were stalking the elusive carne guisada enchiladas.

Must be cool to have a Mexican food joint in your deer lease.

sounds like the game warden was doing them a favor and warning them before they were ticketed or someone called the cops.... I've met quite a few game wardens over the years and alot of times they get overlooked when talking about LEO's and the dangers they face everyday. I could be wrong but I would think that on avg the people they encounter who are armed would be higher than everyday police. almost 100% of hunters and i know alot of anglers arm themselves even under MPA without CHL just due to shady boat launches early in the mornings. There are a few bad apples in every group but i guess i've been lucky when it comes to my encounters with all LE. i'm all for my rights and i know when that line is crossed, but i also remembered what my parents taught me along time ago that a little courtesy goes a long way.....

Yep our game wardens around here and I imagine most of the other counties face armed folks every stop and turn.
I cant believe these guys/gals go into the woods alone...
GM can ticket you just like any other peace office, but most here are of a different mindset, more of helpful than non. Although I have seen one inspect a boat at a gas station in town, he found some under sized fish and lots of open containers. The angler promptly received a visit from the town police and he was arrested.

our sheriffs department to has gone through some turn around as well. We have two shift Sargents that have moved to make a difference in the way the public perceive them. These two take accountability to a high level.

I'm curious if the young men were open carrying or just failed to conceal?

Thanks.
