The new Certificate of Training Form, CHL-100 can be found on the DPS website. It is a password-protected form that can be downloaded from the Instructor Information section: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... orinfo.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ok just got an answer from DPS as follows:

Sent: Wednesday, September 02, 2009 10:12 AM
To: CHLinstructors
Subject: Certificate of Training Form, CHL-100

Since the TR-100 is gone and the new form is downloadable. Do we ( as Instructors ) , can we still call to order extra packetts ( for the no fee ) or go to the website?

Reply as follows:

Yes Sir you can order them through e-mail or the form request that is downloadable from the internet where you can put the quantity and your mailing address.

I spoke with Jan Coffey at DPS today. Do not order packages on the website while it is still asking for credit card info. They are going to get that fixed, but in the meantime, call to get packages.

If you have old TRs,you can continue to deplete your supply,and use them.Do not order more,download the new CHL-100,they are free and not numbered.If you are using your old TRs,until depleted,use the TR number when filling out your class completion sheet,If using the CHL-100 there will be no number in the space on the completion sheet,just leave it blank.The rest of class completion sheet is to be filled out as before,Name,DL#,SA or NSA.

Thats true , I emailed them and got a reponse that it was forwarded to the mail out department.
So I should have the extra packets it a week or so.

Was in an Instructor renewal class Monday, 8/31/09. The admin lady told us if we call and order the packets shipped to a PO Box we would get them sooner than if they went to a street adress. Currently the USPS is delivering faster than UPS. Imagine that! They are no charge and they said nothing about a limit on number of packets.

Did they mention if we are required to keep a (photo)copy of the new CHL-100s?

At the bottom of the form it says "keep a copy for your records" but it doesn't say whether that is for the instructor or the student. I plan to do both until I hear otherwise from DPS.

I sent an email to DPS to see if we instructors needed to keep a copy of the CHL-100.

Their reply was, "Yes, the process is pretty much the same with the previous TR-100."

I figured we did. I guess I'll just have the students fill out 2 of them, because I'm not making Xerox copies of every CHL-100. There goes another 10 minutes of class time. :waiting:
