DPS changes

DPS told a student they no longer had bar codes on the receipt page. But they do give them a 'confirmation number. And the CHL 100 could be faxed in.

Apparently you can't email them anymore. You have to go thru the painful process of attaching the form to an online inquiry.

(At least for instructor forms.)

Yes, it was a lot easier before. I really hope they streamline the process. The new way is a pain in the butt.

Yeah, I really wonder why I have to enter my address, my phone number, my email address (twice) and especially my birthdate just to send them a form. Easier just to stick a stamp on it and let the post office lose it. :banghead:

To each his own.. But, if I'm a new CHL student, I'd much rather simply scan and email my CHL-100 and be done with it. No wondering if or when my mailed documents get their, so stamp or strip to post office. I don't mind entering a little personal data to avoid the hassle of the mail. Plus, those get entered a lot faster than snail mail apps. But, hey some like it fast and some like it slow.

I was referring to documents generated by instructors and sent to DPS (class notification and class completion forms). Although I don't believe student docs can currently be emailed either, but need to be attached to a web-inquiry just as instructor docs must be. But since DPS hasn't notified us of any of this -- who knows??

Both the current CHL-7 and CHL-8 forms now list http://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/contact/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or a fax number as where to send.
