Tomorrow is our first class of 2012, so our first time with the new CHL-100 form. Just curious how you guys are documenting your time.
"Use of Force", "Safe Storage", and "Non-Violent Dispute" are no problem.
"Handgun Use" is a bit unclear. What all are you including in that? Are you including Chapter 46 and 30.06 there?
And what about GC 411? Obviously, we have to teach that, as it is on the test. Are you making a separate line for that?
And what about the test? If you spend an hour reviewing, taking, and grading the test, where are you documenting that?
We always teach a 10 hour class. I am not worried about that. I am just concerned about getting the form right. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Re: New CHL-100 Form
I have been teaching the new outline for my last Nov class, 2 Dec classes.
Used the new CHL100 for last class in Dec & my special Jan 2 class.
Here is how I am doing it. Right or wrong here it is.
Force/Deadly Force 3 hrs.
Safe storage 30min.
NonViolent Dispute 1hr.
Handgun use 1.5hr.
Legal Aspects added to the list. 2hrs.
Range 2hrs.
"Handgun Use" is a bit unclear. What all are you including in that? Are you including Chapter 46 and 30.06 there?
Ch46 & 30.06 - Both of these I am putting under my added catigory Legal aspects.
Under handgun use =
Safe Handling, general range rules, emphasize safe gear, importance of continuing education, regular practice, target shooting, hunting, Safety in cleaning.
Some one sentance ie: target shooting, hunting,
Others MUCH more time. 4 rules probably get a full 1/2 of that time. Split about even.
And what about GC 411? Obviously, we have to teach that, as it is on the test. Are you making a separate line for that?
This also under the added Legal aspects.
And what about the test? If you spend an hour reviewing, taking, and grading the test, where are you documenting that?
My classes are not near as large as yours. I leave this lumped under Force/DF. My review is about 10 minutes. I emphasize & re-emphasize through the day. I assure you I can grade them w/ my set up as fast as they bring them to me. I cant ever remember having 3 people in line waiting to be graded. My simple minded 3rd grade reasoning is:
I assure you, if asked, I will relate any question on the test to F/DF. Use therof, defense against, concequences of, how to avoid the use of,...............

Re: New CHL-100 Form
I have tried it for Jan & will got to a 1.5 hr time frame on the range time.
Will add the .5hr to Force/Deadly Force.
