The email address I have for instructors to ask ?'s of DPS gets it returned as Invalid address..

My Question is since I get get an answer from rds or invalid address

Is Texas ID VAlid?? I have students from different states and in the past the ID was Valid But I have had several call me and say they Cannot finish the application with the TX ID..

Has It changed since they Havent Issued the 2003-2014 Book ,,///

Can you clarify? Have you had someone call and tell you that they could not complete an online application for a CHL by using a TX DPS issued identification card?

Not sure what you or they are looking for. Texas no longer issues Texas ID cards to non residents, or out of state persons. They have not for about 6 to 8 years. All they need to do is use there own state ID. They will have to send a scan or copy of the ID to the RSD contact site along with all other request items and also download and mail a CHL 6 with passport photo's. Hope this is a help for you and them.

If you are from the Jan. class, the emails posted on screen were invalid. Instead of a ".us", it needs to end in a ".gov".

This was addressed only on the final day (end of third relay); they stated they would email everyone in the class to correct this error, however, I
never received the update email.

To Clarify: The are from another state

Yes I know and tell them they can use their Out of state License; But lots of them have I D's that say Indefinite and they want to use-- it has been used by others in the past -- until December I I had three out of a large class of 30 that said they could not complete the App. because it would not accept the TX ID #. They do have a residence here in the Valley for 6 months..

What time was it last night when I posted?? That could be why it was somewhat convoluted..

If the website wouldn't accept it doesn't that answer the question?

P.S. When were Texas ID Cards good indefinitely? Mine expired in the last century so maybe I missed it.

I am still confused. What "ID" says indefinite? The Texas DPS ID or the out of state license? If they are trying to enter an out of state address and a Texas ID number that is probably why it will not work.

Again. this was from the CHL back in at least 2006. Texas no longer issues or reconizes out of state residence for Texas ID cards.

concealed handgun licenses for Texas residents must still contain a valid Texas driver license or identification number in the TX DL/ID # field.

Maybe he doesn't go to the website. Could be a good thing DPS started requiring classes for instructors to renew.

I wpold sure like to have the dps website for instructors that keeps that keeps us in formed .. the one that says updates last post they show was in june last year..If there is another I would sure like to know how to find it ..

DPS has always required that.

I'm no longer an instructor but I thought at one time instructor renewals were an online quiz sans class. Likely I'm mistaken.
