Email Problems - EVERYONE PLEASE READ!!

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

Several of our members have various methods of fighting spam email. Some of those methods include sending some form of confirmation to people sending them an email, often times requiring the sender to submit a request to have their email address listed as "okay."

Here is the problem. By default, when people join TexasCHLforum, their profile is set to receive email notification of new posts and PMs. This email is sent using the email address set for the administrator -- i.e. mine. I'm getting more and more automatic requests to get "approved" so the email will go through, as well as some bounce messages saying I'm not on the approved list.

Please do one of two things. Either add the email address Charles@TexasShooting to your approved list, or change the setting on your profile so that you won't be getting email notifications. This problem is really getting worse and I need your help.

Thanks,
Chas.

Charles, sorry about that. Some of those were mine, but I've added your email addy to my white list.

Thanks. I really don't remember any names, but there are quite a few different members using this type of spam prevention. I sympathize, as I am constantly readjusting the spam filer on my accounts.

Yes, I experienced this as well... If you are having problems receiving your confirmation email, then turn off spam blocking temporarily. Thanks for getting me going Mr. Cotton!

BTW, nice forum here. Thanks for all that you do for the citizens of Texas.
