Does anybody make a holster that doubles as concealed and open carry?

Others will weigh in that are more well spoken but in my opinion both are easy attainable based on wardrobe choices. I have carried a milt sparks VM2 OC and CC, crossbreed both ways, belt holsters both ways (tuck or untuck your over shirt). Get something quality and a quality belt and you'd be surprised.

Hidden Hybrid Holster might be the type you are looking for. I use one for my XDs and it is quite comfortable IWB and OWB.

There's a guy in AZ who makes a leather holster that is both IWB and OWB
I had him make me a custom holster for a handgun with a rail mounted light, and he did good work.
I'm not a fan of all of the skulls on his webpage, but he makes a nice holster.

I have one of his holsters (IWB only) and would agree that he does quality work.allisji wrote:There's a guy in AZ who makes a leather holster that is both IWB and OWB

Remove your cover garment and boom, it's an open carry holster. If you want a holster with more than a thumb break for retention, then you're probably not going to find such a holster for a Nano. Most people who OC would use a larger gun when there's no need to accept the compromises inherent in such a small gun, if you're not trying to conceal it.

DM Bullard Dual Carry is either IWB or OWB, based on which side of the holster you mount the belt clips. I have one of these and am very pleased with the quality.

Re: Does anybody make a holster that doubles as concealed and open carry?
Good question - i was thinking about that myself. Also, here's another one - maybe im in the wrong forum to ask.
But, I own a Mare's Leg. Ok, stop - don't go there - Im not talking about whether it's a practical gun or not. Lot's of opinions about the Mare's Leg in general. But this question pertains to open carry/concealed carry laws.
I understand that a Mare's Leg (Rossi Ranch Hand) is classified as a lever action hand gun. I believe it's the ATF who made that determination. Anyway, all the info I can find about Mare's Leg/Ranch Hand, says, it's a lever action pistol.
That being said - it makes it a difficult piece to conceal. Yeah yeah, down my pants leg, under my shirt, down my sleeve, etc etc. Trust me, I don't really intend to ever make it a concealed weapon. It's a PERFECT gun to sit in the gun rack, or in the seat in the truck as im cruising a 4000 acre ranch somewhere in the brush country, or hill country. Not on the roads. It's a good snake gun, cause i can load rat/snake/bird shot in it if I choose. I can also go shotgun slug, or just straight up .44 Mag. Cool little gun.
But back to either cocnealed or open carry. Ok, I established I doublt I'll ever try to conceal carry it. But, here we go with the question/debate. And Im assuming the answer is No, since it's classified at as pistol. I cant put a strap on it and wear it as an open carry, right? Or a should sheath, right? I have to treat it as a pistol. If it's a pistol, then it's open carry - has Texax passed the law yet about open carry for handguns, since my Mare's Leg is a handgun?
What do yall think fellers???

If it classifies as a handgun and you have a license to carry, then you may open carry it in a belt holster or a shoulder holster.Dannyboy wrote:Good question - i was thinking about that myself. Also, here's another one - maybe im in the wrong forum to ask.

What length is the barrel? If the barrel length is less than 16" then you should know definitively whether it classifies as a handgun or a short barreled rifle. If an SBR then it would be regulated under the National Firearms Act and you wouldn't be allowed to obtain it without going through the BATFE to purchase an NFA tax stamp for $200.

As it ships, it's a "handgun." I guess because the stock stock is narrow enough to put your hand around. If you put on a different stock, it can easily become an SBR.allisji wrote: If it classifies as a handgun and you have a license to carry, then you may open carry it in a belt holster or a shoulder holster.

if open carried anywhere other than on your own ranch, I would consider it as an AGD*.

Re: Does anybody make a holster that doubles as concealed and open carry?
I considered posting that open carrying a "handgun" that looks like a long gun, while legal, could be asking for trouble. But based on the way that the poster asked the question, I got the feeling that he already understood that it wouldn't be a good idea to OC it in public view.android wrote:As it ships, it's a "handgun." A holster doesn't HAVE to be IWB to be concealed. My Safariland 578 Profit holds my gun snugly against my side, and is a retention type holster. It's strong and featherweight. It's also a paddle type.
With so many new signs popping up, I'm REALLY appreciating a paddle-type holster more, because it's so easy to take on and off.
