CZ - My interest is up

I have shot my friends EAA Witness, which is a copy of the CZ-75.
I like it, and find it very accurate.

CZ. Who has one, and which model do y'all suggest me to look at?
I want to have it primarily for Target/Range shooting.
9mm.

Suspect the Gunshow would be best place to get one.
Stopped by I-30 Pawn shop - they had a used CZ-75 .40 for $379.
It felt good in the hand, but I am not paying new for unknown equipment...

I've had a P01 for a couple of years now and I really like it. Good ergonomics, shoots well, is compact enough to conceal easily, and I think it looks good too.

I have the CZ 75, 82 (9 mak), and 75 kadet and love them all. My dad has the CZ-RAMI (.40) and likes it too. The only issue I have had on mine is that the 82 is picky on which ammo it will eat. With the rami, my dad had to send it back to CZ to have the ramp polished as it was not feeding properly. Other than that, they are great guns and are surprisingly accurate for the price. I am planning to buy the P01 when the funds become available.

I bought the 82 at a gun show, the rest were bought new at different stores. Usually only a couple of sellers carry the newer models of CZ at the shows in Houston. As always, when buying at shows, do some research because I have seen these guns above stores prices.

My daily carry is a CZ75B in 9mm. It prints more accurately than I can hold and, except for one small part that is not as robust as it might be, has been totally reliable. If you get one I think you will really like it quite a lot.

The 75B is "known for" breaking slide stops at high round counts - at least this is the internet rumor and it has been true for me. The slide stop is available from CZ.

The Kadet .22 top end is also just great. CZ changed the firing pin to a chisel point a few years ago, dramatically reducing misfires. The "new style" firing pin, spring, and firing pin stop are available from CZ if you buy an older Kadet.

BTW the CZ75B is available with a traditional safety lever or with a de-cocker - I think the de-cocker is CZ75BD - anyway, the letters are different. -- Just so you know to look for the one you want forewarned that there are two models. Oh! - there is a single action too - called SA - if you do not want the double-action first shot. Maybe go to the CZ web site and look at the different models so you know what is available.

I bought one of these. You have to call and write Mr. Hobdell and ask him to remove the firing pin block if you want a really nice trigger. I love my CZ75 Custom. It feels right when you shoot it. It makes you smile.

Bill, I just got an EAA Witness steel compact 45acp for my birthday. The single action pull was great. The double action pull was terrible!!!! I've worked on it and it's lots better. I put 300 rounds of Blazer Brass 230gr fmj thru it first time out. It was perfect, not a hicup.
Bud's gun shop on the internet sell them for $336. I had a local shop get me one for $369 + tax. I didn't want to mess with the FFL transfer stuff.

The mag release is reversible, left or right. Ambi safteys are available. You can buy slide & barrel combos to convert YOUR gun to just about any caliber. I like it!!! It was more than $100 less than a CZ.

You might want to check out the Desert Eagle, Baby Eagle(9mm) made by IMI. They cost a little more than a Witness.

I have the Rami in 9mm and really like it .
I have put about 2500rds threw and only had minor ammo problems till
I found what works good for me. I also have the 14 rd mags for a much
better grip and control.Its my every day carry.

Hey Bill!! I guess great minds think alike. I've been buzzing around the CZ forum for awile myself considering purchasing a good 9mm range pistol. I like what I see with the CZ's. Academy had one for $402.00 a little while back that I left some finger prints on but still haven't made the plunge yet. Bud's gun shop seems to have very good prices but I would rather buy locally.
I tried to register at the CZ shooters forum but never could get a confirmation from any of the mods so I went with http://www.CZForum.com and quickly registered. Very good info there.

Guns are hard chrome. The grips are aluminum. I don't like the brown wood grips and plan on refinishing them (if that's possible). I have an extra set of alum grips that I think I'm going to put on my .38 super if the "refinishing" doesn't work out.

What are the holes along the sides? Are the for scope mounts?
