XD9 Service, for concealed carry?
Has anyone here tried to conceal an X9 Service with a 4" barrel? If so, how did it work for you and what holster do you recommend?

While this is certainly true, that's kind of like saying it is easier to lift a 50lb TV than a 100lb TV. Point being, don't worry if the service (4") is what you already own. I carry my XD40 (also a service) all day everyday, and it's great in the car, on the couch, at my desk, etc.propellerhead wrote:My XD9 Service will dig into my hip when I sit down. The subcompact is so much easier to carry.
Oh and on holsters: If I could afford it, I would offer to buy your next holster if you got the DeSantis "Tuck-This" and didn't love it. Just my $0.02...

XD .40 Service for me in Tucker's "Answer". It's a GREAT holster.

I have a couple of carry options that work for my XD9:
- - Comp-Tac CTAC with maximum forward cant anywhere from 3:00 to 5:00 under a loose-fitting, untucked, woven shirt
- SmartCarry in some roomy pants and a long shirt to cover the bulge

I carry my XD9 Service in a Crossbreed Super-Tuck with no problems. I still would like to have the SC if I could afford it.

I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop.

I carry all my XD's in a Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC Slide. This is a IWB holster and is very comfortable.
Good Luck,

I carry an XD9 Service in a Gun Leather IWB that is a knock off of a Milt Sparks Summer Comfort. It's a great holster and very comfortable once you find your "sweet spot". For me, that's about the 4:00 position.
I have no problem concealing the gun with an un-tucked t-shirt or polo shirt, but I'm 6'1" and about 225. Keeping the grip concealed may be a problem if you are fortunate to be slender in build.
I also occasionally carry in a Don Hume "Agent" belt holster when I can wear suitable clothing.
