Ruger LCR .38 w/ FOS. What does "FOS" mean?

#1

Post by surprise_i'm_armed »

Today I was just window shopping at Academy Lewisville. I noticed that they had
a Ruger LCR (Lightweight Compact Revolver) which had a tag that read
"Ruger LCR .38 w/FOS".

The counterman has a lot of experience with firearms, but he could not define FOS.

I searched the Ruger site, and then Bing for a definition, but came up with nothing.

Can anyone define this term?

Thank you.

I have one with regular sights. Kicks pretty good. I do like it though. With the FOS I am sure it is accurate to at least 10 feet vs 9 feet with regular sights.
