Check out the DW ECO. I carry an STI Gaurdian, but the single stack version is out of production.

I carry a Beretta Storm Subcompact. Subcompact is a bit of a misnomer, it has a 13 round capacity and is considerably bigger than most pocket guns. Rounded where it counts. Comes with a floppy thing on one of the mags to provide a placard for your pinky.. Good shooter and comfortable to shoot.

I have my out for a CZ PO1 great reviews. But I haven't fired one yet.

Smallest one I have to carry is the Lightweight Colt Commander and I love it.

I don't know if you all would count this, but as in my avatar, it's a Colt Government 380, which has been my EDC for the past 10 years. Extremely comfortable to carry and I know it's a little anemic, but you go with what you got. I'm graduating to a 9mm DA/SA soon. ;-)

My favorite DA/SA is my Tanfoglio BTA-90. It did not take long for me to figure out that DA/SA with decocker had too much going on to be my EDC. Now I carry a striker fired pistol with no external safety and more capacity: S&W M&P M2.0 9mm 5inch.

Thanks Joe. I don’t want to take this thread off topic, but I love grips for 1911’s. Here is one of my favorite pair on my TRP.

The issue is you need to say how much your willing to spend. STI, Wilson combat, Ed Brown all are in the 3 to 5 k range or more. find a Commander sized 1911 light weight ie a Aluminum frame or some such. lower priced is or I should say middle of the road is Kimber, Colt, Dan Wesson some Springfield. lower or budget how ever your see it... is Grimsim(sp) Turkish made and allllll the PI made 1911 some are not bad..

This is a not bad pistol.

I had a Dan Wesson ECO in .45. I just never could get use to that short of a barrel on a 1911. I know they have come a long way in being more reliable and I never had problems with my ECO. I just like anything shorter than a Commander length.

When you decide what to buy please be sure to post a picture and let us know.

I would check out RIA 1911s. I have friends who run and love them. RIA has proven to be very reliable and affordable.
