Several years ago, after serious consideration, I went to my LGS with the intention of purchasing a SIG P229. I had decided it was just the gun for me.

Upon arrival, I first went to the used gun counter in the hope that they might have one there. They didn't, but they had a SIG PRO SP2022. It's almost exactly the same physical size as the P229, but with a polymer frame. Used, it was 1/3 the price of a new P229. I bought it. I've never regretted that decision.

I carry a SigPro SP2022.

Great gun, and I recommend it highly.

I sometimes carry a Sig P226 Extreme or a P220. All my handguns are full size.

Daily carry = Springfield Armory 1911-A1 TRP - .45acp in a Tucker DC-3 Open carry except at church.

Work rig, up & down on & off a tractor, mower, physical work that gets one double dirty = Springfield Armory XD - .45 in a Home Made Chesty Puller rig.
XD is easy to clean at end of the day. 10 minutes. Chesty Puller rig keeps it accessible and off a belt when seated.

Love carrying and shooting this. In my opinion...the most underrated carry gun of all time.

This is what I was going to say. I need to get one to go along with my P99qa, PPQ 1st gen, PPS 1st gen, and P22.

When you get one; I’d seriously consider some Trijicon HD’s on it. I really love mine.

I love the P99as. It's always tempting to get one.

But to answer the question in the thread subject, my go-to DA/SA is a Beretta M9A3. It's top 2 on my carry list alongside the Glock 43x. I'm thinking of adding the 92x Performance trigger on it and welding a gas pedal to the take down lever. I figure I already have a Beretta. Why get a second one (the 92x Performance) when those are the only two features I really care about on the new one?

A couple times a year I may feel a bit adventurous and carry the FNX45 Tactical because I can. That is surprisingly easy to conceal with a light jacket even with a TLR-1 mounted on the pistol.

I tried carrying the Sig P226 Legion once, but that turned into a giant mess when the mag catch and catch retaining plunger started rusting and seized in place. That is literally the only gun I had a problem with in regards to the magazine catch. No other carry gun has ever had a rusty anything no matter how it's carried. And apparently I'm not the only one with a rusty Sig problem either. Doing a quick internet search shows a lot of people with the same or similar problem, including Tim from the Military Arms Channel. Since then, I shelved the Sig, and it's now a range-only gun.
