Wood grips for King Cobra
I'm thinking of purchasing the 3" barrel Colt King Cobra. It comes with the Hogue Overmolded grip, but I would prefer wood grips. Does anyone know if wood grips are available for this model? They seem to come standard on the 4.25" barrel model.

Aren’t the standard 4.25” model's grips available? I would think they’d fit the 3” gun.mloamiller wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 7:17 am I'm thinking of purchasing the 3" barrel Colt King Cobra. I would check with the Altamont people. Their grips look very nice, and a good price too.The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 2:06 pmAren’t the standard 4.25” model's grips available? That said, mloanmiller might find himself going back to the Hogue grips after shooting a few rounds.
My Colt Python came with wooden grips that I replaced with Hogue grips.
I like the look of the wood grips, but the checkering can bite into your hands with .357 Mag loads.

When I bought my TRR8 from Carlson1, it came with a beautiful set of wood grips, an even prettier set of micarta grips, and the factory original Hogue grips. I put the Hogues back on. They aren't as nice, but they work great at controlling recoil.WildBill wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 2:51 pmI would check with the Altamont people. The rosewood is so pretty that I kept them on the pistol.
