Did all the new gun owners buy .38 revolvers?

Needed some .38 special for requalification.

Called every Academy in San Antonio. None. Said it sold out as soon as they got it. Started calling gun shops starting with closest. After four no goes found some at Nagel's but limited to one box. ONE box of .38 special! Said it was because of high demand. Think it was the only ammo that had any limits.

Must be all us instructors rushing out to get it for qualifying.

LOL, No…
Instructors only, are required to qualify with both a revolver and a semi automatic. We must also score a minimum of 225 points on each one. Whereas normal LTC students can qualify with either and carry either, or both as long as it fits the legal definition of a pistol.

In day's gone by I would take my Colt Diamondback to Red's Range in Austin and they would sell me a big bag of wad-cutters
to practice with for just a few bucks.
Sigh, those were the days.
Please know and follow the rules of firearms safety.

I remember those days. I could get a box of reloaded 38 spl wadcutters for around $4.50 to $5.00 a box. I also made about $10.00 per hour and my house payment was $500.00 per month.
