A friend of my brother's is offering three guns for $1000. The first is a Rock River Arms entry tactical, with aluminum free-floating rail handguard, Hogue grip, winter trigger guard:

Apparently it's in great condition. The second is a Ruger New Vaquero 7" stainless, .44 mag:

The third is a Ruger Mk. 1 .22LR blued fixed sights, not bull barrel:

Sound like a good deal? I've been meaning to get my first AR, and this looks like a great deal. He's in Ohio, so I plan to have my brother ship to an FFL here. That's legal, right?

Re: Snag this deal?
Hard to say as I don't know the value of the pistols. You can research their value on gunsamerica.com
If they turn out to be a good value with the AR for 1000.00 then you might want to jump on it. I
have a RRA AR and I am quite happy with it. IMO, they are one of the best.
But, the MAIN thing is....."A friend of my brother's" or a "friend of a friend or...... an uncle of a used to be friend", etc.........
could lead to stolen or otherwise illegal guns. Be careful in that regard.

Re: Snag this deal?
I would say value of the Ruger Vanquero is about $420, maybe $200 for Mark I. Not sure of value on rifle.

Re: Snag this deal?
I would jump all over that for $1K.
The rifle alone is worth at least $600.
The Vaquero about $350
The .22 about $200

Actually, this is not an uncertain thing, but thanks for the warning. My brother has known the guy for at least a year and a half; I've met and shot with him once. He's in the Air Force and moving on to the People's Republic of Massachusetts or California.AEA wrote:But, the MAIN thing is....."A friend of my brother's" or a "friend of a friend or...... an uncle of a used to be friend", etc.........

If you want all three guns it's a reasonable price for the set.
