Need a good gunsmith in the DFW area

#1

Post by THE ENGINEER »

I need a good gunsmith in DFW area to fix what the butcher at the DFW gun range on Mockingbird did to my XD-45 when installing my new sights. The top of my slide in front of the front sight needs to be refinished and the rear sight shifted over so it is properly centered. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, never bring anything to their gunsmith, he is a joke!

Don't we all. I too am in need of someone good to replace the one who hurt himself and won;t return phone calls.

Gander Mountain in Sherman has a new guy. He's young, but seems to know a ton!

He threaded a barrel for me, did an great job at a reasonable price. Last I remember his e-mail was GM408GS@GanderMountain.com .

I do not know about a general purpose gunsmith, but if you're looking for a 1911 'smith, you might want to contact Ken Crawley. ken@crawleycustom.com

Mr. Crawley is located around the Cedar Creek Lake area SSE of Dallas.

Ray's Sporting Goods (Gun store) has a good gunsmith located there. They are basically just outside of downtown Dallas.
