Which cheap gun to carry?

S&W 6906's are available in many places, both NIB and used.. In fact I bought the one pictured below NIB for $399.99 from CDNN w/one mag & a lifetime warranty.

Add a S&W +2grip extender and you can use the 15rd mags of the 5906 and you'll have a capacity of 16rds, in a dead reliable platform w/external safety.

Just another choice.

Kel-Tec PF-9. Heck for you're $$$ requirements you could almost buy two of them.

Rodger that. The only way the PF-9 doesn't fir Stupid's requirements is that there's no external safety.

You are correct, I missed that in his laundry list. I can assure him though that the best safety(ies) are between his ears and on his hand. With the trigger pull weight and length of pull of the PF-9 if it goes off, it was intentional.

I bought a Bersa UC 9(13 rounder) at the last Houston gunshow and have fired about 100-200 rounds through it with no problems. In fact, I like it better than myh S&W 3913 for whatever that's worth....oh, it was $330 out the door.

Now I want a Bersa .380,

I've scanned some of your blog and I would say that you are far from stupid. Just trying to offer you other options. The trigger pull on the PF-9 is very similar to a DA revolver. It is long and heavy. If it goes off, I would say it is intentional. But I understand your hesitation. You have to be comfortable with what you carry.

I had a Bersa Thunder 9/UC too, and it was an excellent pistol.. My understanding is that the heritage of the BT9/UC is from the fine Walther P88, which is considered by many as one of the best 9mm pistols ever made..

My BT9/UC was amazingly accurate, and the only reason I parted with it is because I have small hands, and the BT9/UC was a bit too large for my taste.. Other than that, and that's MY problem, the BT9/UC is a fine weapon.

The S&W CS9. I prefer my CS9 for cc over the 3913LS.

I have a 3913(not lady version) but I like the Bersa better. I hate the flip upward safety on the Smith, but I typically carry if with the safety off anyway since it's double action first shot like a revolver.
