A chainsaw with a full tank, a fresh spark plug and an easy start.

Why a Machete is Best for a Zombie Apocalypse

Post by tfrazier »

Okay, I went with the 12 gauge shotgun, but the very best weapon for a Zombie invasion is a machete. You have to totally obliterate the grey matter or separate the noggin' from the shoulders to permanently take out a Zombie. Head shots from anything but a shotgun will only put them down for about five minutes; there are too many synapses left intact which simply reroute the electrical hunger signals if you don't scramble things up good enough.

And if you're a college kid, you need to be sure and wear hiking boots with lots of ankle support...everyone knows that college kids will ALWAYS fall and twist their ankles when they run from old fashioned Zombies...especially if you are female and scantily clad and are running from the slow but persistent ones which equates to a really long chase scene.

If the Zombies are the modern super-fast ones there's no point in running, you have to stand and fight.

Zombies aren't smart enough to use guns, so there's not much need for long range weaponry when they are going to get within grappling distance by sheer numbers anyway. Hence the machete...it never runs out of ammo or gas.

It might not run out of gas, but your ability to use it might.

Mr. Surveyor, then you must be familiar with the ultimate line cutter, the brush-hook. Now THAT's a zombie slayer...but definitely one that requires stamina on the wielder's part.

yeah... the brush hook is for those long shots.... for up close and personal it just has to be a Barteaux Bros machete... I have a few that have been sharpened so much that they look like swords... the Woodsman's Pal is really heavy, and great at "bad breath" distances as well

Definitely the AR/M4 for me and my family. Good for CQB and longer ranges. Have plenty to go around for commonality of parts, mags, and ammo. Throw in a dedicated .22LR upper or conversion kit have an easy stock pile of cheap ammo for zombie head shots.

Or buy a 10/22 for less money and be able to arm a second shooter. "rlol"

How about a belt-fed 12 gauge upper for your full-auto AR lower?

This is what I was thinking too.

Of course, there's also the AA12 with a drum mag.
