Bass Pro in Pearland had lots of 40 in self defense and range, some 9mm, no .380 and some smattering of others. Christmas shoppers were there though.

Walmart on 646 and I-45 had about 20 boxes of 9mm WWB (50 count) at about $12. They have loads of 40S&W and no .380 or .45.

Academy in Webster had most calibers on the shelf (except the usual...no .380) :tiphat:

The new Academy in San Marcos (at Exit 202) had lots of ammo this morning at 10:30. Most of it was Monarch, but they had full shelves of most pistol calibers except for .45 and .380 (except for a few hundred rounds of .380 Critical Defense). Most prevalent were 9mm, .38 and .40 S&W.

Academy is finally starting to have stock on their shelves. Monarch ammo isn't bad, I buy it for range ammo just need to clean your gun real well afterwards. Both of my PX4's and when I had it my PT140 were fine with monarch ammo.

GRB Fun Show had lots of ammo as usual, and I even saw some range .380 for less than $20 for 50 rounds and some Hornaday SD .380 for $20 for 20 rounds (my buddy snagged some of that). It's getting better, but not back to pre BO prices.

I just went on an Ammo search in DFW, specifically looking for .45 ACP.
Bass Pro in Grapevine - No FMJ, only a few JHP 25 round boxes.
Acadamy in Keller (377 and N. Tarrant) 12 boxes of FMJ, I bought the max of 5 boxes (WWB)
Cabelas 35W and 170 - bought the last two boxes of WWB FMJ, and a 250 megapack of Federal FMJ (several boxes available for $107)

Cabelas actually had a good selection. They also had plenty of .38 SPC and .380 acp.

Seems to me that the most plentiful round available is 9mm and .40S&W. I guess it is time to break down and buy a new Glock 23.

Over all I was pleased to find what I did. I don't know if it is ore plentiful now, or people are spending money on Christmas instead of Ammo!

Also seems like there is more available in FW than in Dallas. Now I can go to the range and break in my new Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry!! :thumbs2:

This morning, about 1030, the WalMart at FM 646 and I-45 (League City/Dickinson) had a couple dozen 50-round boxes of 9mm WWB at $11.47. They also had a BUNCH of .40, both WWB and Federal, plus maybe ten boxes of .44 magnum.

The WalMart at Dixie Farm Road and Broadway in Pearland had at least half a dozen 50-round boxes of WWB 9mm, plus several boxes of .40

Today at Bass Pro in Grapevine, they had plenty of 9mm, .40, and .45 ammo (both practice and PP) available. No .380 at all.

Carters Country on the Katy freeway is stocked with everything...Even .380

Question to other ammo lookers in Denton County or close by:
Does anyone know a Wal-Mart that carries .38/.38 Special?
I know Academy Lewisville probably has those, but Wally World is usually cheaper.
Please post on this thread if you can answer this.

I picked up a few boxes of Winchester WB .380 for around $20/50 rds at the Academy on Brodie Ln in Austin over the weekend.

The Academy at I-35 and William Cannon in Austin had just sold out as I got there, so at least they are getting some in.

I also managed to find some .380 FMJ on Cabela's website for $16/50 rounds (MFS 2000 <- manufacturer) but it seems they are out of stock yet again. I managed to snag a few boxes and received them today.

Cabela's in Buda does have a few different brands of JHP in .380 on the shelves, but no FMJ.

Wally world, at 75 and Spring Creek (Plano, TX) has a good selection, of 9mm, 40, 45 and 38 and 38 Special. Many boxes at the regular prices.

Pick what you want and leave some for others.
