Re: Fort Worth Gun Show parking
I was intitially a bit disappointed in the parking fee. However, I went with the intent on spending up to $600 on a handgun. I guess I can spare $5 to park. I actually spent $135 less than planned on the EXACT gun I was looking for. A $5 parking fee was forgotten about in the end.

Re: Fort Worth Gun Show parking
I went today and paid $3.00 to park in the big lot south of Harley St.
I didn't find any fantastic deals on ammo, so I passed on that.
I bought a couple of 7 round mags for my wife's Taurus PT709, which we hadn't been able to find anywhere.
Saw lots of Rock Island Tactical Compact 1911s. Heavier than a Kimber or Colt, but at less than half the price I can live with it.
Bachman Pawn had a super deal a XD40sc for $399. Would have pulled the trigger, but then I would have to explain to my finance department(wife) when I got home.
Was really looking for a carry J frame type revolver to use as a BUG, but I guess the days of finding one for under $200 are over.
I talked to a fellow at one of the tables about the Mosin Nagant 91/30 rifles and 9x18 Makarov pistols, and milsup firearms in general. I learned a lot, interesting fellow.

Ditto. I just paid the $3 on Saturday and didn't worry about it. That was peanuts compared to what I spent inside.
The wife and I tried to go to the Modern today and couldn't hardly get there for all the traffic. Who was the genius who scheduled the gun show on the same weekend as Mayfest?

Re: Fort Worth Gun Show parking
Went to the show today. Got there about 1:30 and left at 4:30. It was all I could do to walk as fast as I could....stop at the few vendors that interested me....and see the whole show. IMO, they had upwards of 1800 tables.
I had to park in the parking garage as the open lot was full. When I got there I had to go to level 3 to find a place.
A GREAT show. TONS of good deals to be had for one looking for a new gun. SA XD sub-compact 9mm: $419; In .40 $439; RIA sub-compact(don't know the model #)...around $400 or maybe a little less. I've never seen as many new gun dealers there. Phew. i was quite disappointed in the lack of militaria vendors, and used gun guys there. Very few and far between. MANY AR platform parts guys there. VERY few tactical/combat shotgun vendors there. Not ONE original U.S. military marked trench gun to be found. VERY few collector arms guys(collectors of WWII guns)....maybe 4 at the most. Another disappointment. But times do change. *sigh*.
That is by far my favorite show in Fort Worth. Those promoters have one at the end of June, and another in August. Don't think I'll be attending any others.
I visited with Greybeard for a long time. Always good to sit down & visit with a forum friend.
I went to try to find a mag loader for my Colt Gov't. .380. Nada, Zero, Zilch. They may not even make them.
So I didn't buy one thing except some batteries for my tactical flashlight from Longhorn Tactical out of Austin. 3-CR123's for $5.00....a VERY good deal.

Wish I had spotted those, I need some also. I was looking for them, too.joe817 wrote: So I didn't buy one thing except some batteries for my tactical flashlight from Longhorn Tactical out of Austin. 3-CR123's for $5.00....a VERY good deal.

Re: Fort Worth Gun Show parking
I took my wife this time, we paid the 5'er for parking, as she is double knee replaced and needs a hip done, so that got us close to the door. Worth every penny as far as I am concerned.
I bought her a CC purse, as I had promised her I would do for Mother's day if she got her plastic by then. The plastic had arrived on Thursday, so I held up my end of the deal.
You should have seen her smile when she pulled her 45 Kimber out of her purse to check it at the door. That was worth the parking fee by itself!
I was a little short on LRM primers, and found them for 32.00/1000 so I bought 5K of them. I also found some H4350, which has been hard to find lately, so I scored a 8# jug of that, at a decent price as well.
In general, prices are lower, vendors were willing to deal, and a lot of new faces were seen. It was crowded, so the new parking fee did not seem to have any effect on the attendance.
It was a good show, better than many for the last 2 years.
