Bass Pro Shops handgun sale. Oct 11-31, 2010.

My Bass Pro Shops circular arrived in the mail today.

They have a variety of rifles and shotguns on sale, but
I will just detail the 3 handguns they have on sale.

Ruger LCR (Lightweight Compact Revolver), .38 Special,
1.8" barrel, $479.99.

Smith and Wesson Model 637 Airweight, .38 Special, 5 rounds,
Matte silver with black grips, SA/DA, $429.94 after a $50
mail in rebate.

1911 Government model (5"), Picatinny rails, .45 ACP, 8 rounds,
(8 + 1?), free laser and an extra magazine. $799.99.

What is puzzling about this 1911 is they do not state what brand
or model it is. The picture in the ad is of a solid black 1911, but
I can't tell if it's a Taurus PT1911 or some other kind. It's kind of
neat that it comes with a laser, but it doesn't state what brand of
that either.

It's kind of hard to make a value-for-the-price decision if they keep
2 of the most important model names a secret. Sheesh.

$480 for and LCR!!!! On sale!!!! That's about $80 over what the regular price is at CTD, The Gun Zone, and S.A.W. I'll go to Bass Pro for Ammo and I always go eyeball their gun prices and walk away shaking my head.

To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic-TN
