Hey HoustonSy, I like shooting stuff as much as anybody, but a good laugh is hard to beat.
I think this would provide endless entertainment for all ages and safe for all age groups.

What damage do squirrels do to oak trees?

They chew their way into houses, get into the attic, urinate and defecate, (just what everyone wants happening in their attic) reproduce, thus making the party that much merrier, chew exposed wire for fun, continually run loudly back and forth throughout the attic and generally make life unpleasant for their hosts.

I made mention of this to my daughter and she laughed and laughed at how silly I was to think such a thing. That just don't happen she said. A year passed and one day she asked if she could borrow my pellet rifle. I said sure. Why?

Squirrels in the attic Dad said she and their driving us nuts!

I laughed so hard tears streamed down my face.

To her credit, she laughed just as hard with me...

I have a home in about 10 miles from Trinity and I don’t think I could buy enough ammo to deter the squirrels. I get enough to eat, but that’s about all I can do. I guess I am fortunate to never have had them in the house.

Yup. East from you off of 287. Hundreds of the buggers. Been thinking about harvesting some for food. I hate killing anything I don't plan to eat. Except for bad guys, which I hope to never be exposed to at that level. Dad made me eat a woodpecker I shot when I was 12 years old to make a point of that. Wasn't a bad meal, I just hated that I killed something so pretty because I wanted to shoot something.

Please PM me with any info you haveon skinning, gutting and cooking these little morsels!

HaHa.. I killed one of those when I was about that age too. I got tired of waking up every morning to all that racket!! Man, those things will drive you crazy. He was in the tree by my bedroom window. Takes those suckes several days to pecker out a hole. Then they never stop remodeling!! On his last day, I woke up that saturday morning to his noise and just had enough!! My window opened and he got some 410... Then I got a butt woopin for scaring everybody in the house half to death... :grumble

Abraham sounds like he has some bad squirrel experiences. I hope they didn't drive you too crazy.

I use a Remington pump in .22 short. It's about as loud as a hand clap and has proven effective against a few substantially constructed critters.
