I think we are missing a lot of details due to editing. They are cutting things in order to get the content into 30 minutes; a lot is lost in that effort. Some of the things lost tend to cast some of the story lines in a negative way....like the incident with the fire. It probably played out much differently than we saw on that episode. My gut tells me that Will is pretty well known locally and seems to be a responsible individual. He probably has friends on that fire department and worked with them in putting out the fire he caused, it just wasn't shown.

She seems to be a classic case of having something to prove. "Only two people can tell Dad what to do - me and God." (or words to that effect)

They called the FD and then went right back to shooting, just seemed very irresponsible.

FWIW- In the interview part, Will said they actually paid to have the FD there with them, as a precaution.

honestly i wonder if it isn't at least some sort of an act, or a role that she's playing for the camera (see Chumlee on Pawn Stars as an example, in real life he's not as dumb as the show portrays him, but his character is more entertaining).

she does seem to know quite a bit about guns, but her "one-of-the-guys" - or, more accurately, "better-than-most-of-the-guys" - attitude has gotten annoying after just a few episodes.

i enjoyed the episode where they fixed up that WWII flame thrower, but i was a bit bothered by their method for testing to see if the tanks would hold up to the required pressure. they were just standing there with the tanks on a work bench right next to them, with a guy saying something like "well if they're gonna blow it'll happen soon". i'm sure they had to have tested them in a more safe manner before doing that shoot, maybe they just did that to make it seem more dramatic.

I'd say 95% of the show is scripted. The RJ didn't design the Katana. A buddy I know Paul. Had Tiger meet Will and had Will make the rifle for Tiger. Tiger designed it Will just makes it. The buyer who wanted the supressed AK is one of the guys who works there's brother. At least that's what I was told when I went to BR last weekend. Several of the products were out way before the show started filming.

Teddy who did most of the filming for Discovery. Said they take 60 hrs of video for 24 min of show. He's the skinny white guy with the fire extingisher trying to put out the fire. He said it was actually pretty scary. He was seconds away from running away bc the flames were getting out of control

First of all, "Reality" tv is real just like wrestling is real. That goes for just about every reality show, not just this one. In my opinion, it is still an entertaining show no matter when the products came out. If they didn't make it seem like there were deadlines or obstacles, it wouldn't be nearly as interesting.

Second, I don't think Will ever took credit for designing the Katana. He was pretty clear that Tiger designed it and was just looking for someone to put it together and I'm sure market it. What better way than to spotlight it on national television? Seems like a win-win for both parties.

I don't watch reality tv for the realism, I watch it for the entertainment value. Personally, I think the show is interesting and enjoy watching it.

Well I'm new to the party...been working alot.

WOW...what a bunch of hill billy engineering. Ya know them book lernin folks can can do mathematical models that tell you how dem dare thingamajigs behave under stress. Ummm...really they can!!!

That being said they would be our best friends in a "crisis" ala Libya. I remember watching some Nat. Geo. special years ago and seeing footage of the Russian Afghan conflict where guys in mud huts in Pakistan were making fairly good copies of AK's.

But...the...daughter...ummm...no.

i find it entertaining how the owner claims to be the first to invent or do anything with guns. i might be more interested if they did more then just rifles and ugly shotguns.

id like to see them make somthing without such sloppy precision standards.

Who cares if it's scripted or not. It's good ol' products being made in the good ol' USA. And manufactoring everything to a precise engineered standpoint it sometimes over reated. I've fabricated some parts for cars(and cop cars for that matter, with the known stress those guys put on vehicles) that are still outperforming the manufactured versions, and made them with die grinders and drills, not cnc machines and lathes. After all, the AK did outperform the M16 at first, and it's sloppy as can be. Don't be so critical of a family making things in America for America. It's a great show regardless!

i have the day off a planned to watch a couple of episodes while drinking a pot of coffee this morning. They've taken it off of our On Demand options.
So i watched the last episode of Top Shot.

Wow. I guess I'm in the minority on this one. I have thought parts of the show were interesting but not enough to keep it on my roster. And I'll record just about anything...

every time I try to watch it I cant make it through an entire episode

I catched some of the part where the silenced AK was made. But wow $2800 for an AK with Quad-rail wih integrated Silencer
Too much $$$$ for a SAIGA.

I liked the episode where the full auto Wil was working on went into runaway mode. He was quite the Drama Queen stating that if anyone else had that happen "they would die" and "anyone in front of the gun would die", what an idjit. Most sensible people dont test any automatic with a full mag. Plus, so what if it does go full auto, you should have firm control and be prepared for it. Overall i do like the show, any gun related show is interesting for the most part to me. Wil, calm down and quit being so melodramatic.

that was one of the first episodes I watched kinda turned me off.
