Sales guy needs some carry advice

I have carried at work IWB using my 239 and a Comp Tac Spartan. Works well. Now I've switched to a briefcase with a hidden pocket and a .38 revolver. I'm at my desk almost all the time so on the body is not as important.

I have shot plenty of other 9mm handguns and I think my 239 is the best shooting of them. Though I've got a date with a Wilson soon. The thickness of the 239 is fantastic for a 9 you could shoot all day. If I wanted another option though I would seriously consider the 238.

I was thinking the same thing, to me the 239 is a good bit smaller then the glocks in thickness, which is what made me choose it.

I thought the same thing and looked up the widths of a G19 and a P239. The G19 shows to be 1.18 and the P239 is 1.2... . I would have sworn the Glock was wider.

The Glock is also slimmer than a 1911 (1911 is 1.28 inches). That said, the 1911 feels a heck of alot slimmer than my Glocks. Something about the design of the Glock makes them feel fatter than they actually are.

Funny. I also thought my 1911 was thinner. Weird how the illusion of thickness works. It may very well be the squared off edges.

I don't have a 1911 in front of me (some day ), but I believe the slide and frame of a 1911 is thinner than a standard-size 9/40/357 frame Glock and MUCH THINNER than a large-frame 45/10mm Glock. The 1.28 inches on a 1911 includes all the pointy bits like the safety and slide release lever etc., correct? Those items on a Glock are very small and tight to the body of the gun, whereas they hang off a ways on a 1911. Thus the true width of a 1911 (slide/frame) is thinner even while the overall width is wider.

I too started CHL by trying to use tuckable holsters (MTAC, Galco skyops,etc), belly bands and thunderwear to conceal full size and compact guns like my beretta, glock 23 and springfield xd .45 compact.

After trying this for a month I transitioned to pocket carry with jframe.38, kahr pm9, baby glocks and ruger lcp.

In my experience the baby glock is a bit much to carry in business clothing like yours. I too wear your type of attire to work daily and daily carry a kahr pm9, jframe .38 or a ruger lcp.

I found that with compact and full size firearms like your glock 23 that I ended up leaving it at home due to fear of printing, discovery of the clips, inconvenience of the weight, etc.

With pocket carry I never leave the front door unarmed and frequently have it on inside the home.

I'm not trying to be thick here, but I don't get how those things work. Do you wear them like underwear or do they strap on around the waist? The other part I am having trouble figuring out is how to draw the weapon from them. If it straps on like underwear, do I have to unfasten my britches to draw? It seems like my pants would fall off once I start shooting. I usually don't wear my pants loose enough to reach in them and pull out a gun or again... they would fall off. Another question. Does the weapon ride in the front, side or back? I pictured it riding in the front and was worried it would stab me when I sit. This is not meant to be a slight on this form of carry in any way, shape, form or fashion. I have seen this style recommended before and have wondered about these issues more than once.

Can one of you guys shed some light on this for me? I watched that link but it does not show the rig on a person.

I'm one of those pesky outside salesman myself. Glock 27 or S&W 642 go everywhere with me and during the winter I usually upgrade to the Kimber UC II.

But in all seriousness, I have a huge problem with this product because of Rule #2 .... how does a man holster, carry, and unholster a gun in this product when worn at noon position as shown in videos WITHOUT violating Rule #2 and pointing the muzzle of his firearm at a part of his anatomy that NO MAN wishes to ever destroy
