Yep, it would certainly beat not carrying at all.

I just ordered one off e-bay to at least have for "show and tell" box in CHL classes. $46.00 shipped. Altho certain it would be more tolerable with something like the LCP, I ordered one for LCR. Pretty sure the Crimson Trace laser grip on LCP would require a specific mold.

The armpit idea is a good idea, but it has already been taken. LOL. Our friend has one of those, and because she wears a lot of cardigans in spring/winter/fall, she can carry quite a bit in it.

I imagine the set set-up in the armpit would be even worse on the neck and shoulders as there is nothing to distribute the weight evenly across the shoulders like a traditional shoulder holster.

it seemed like that one reviewed had much more gun in her bra than the looper people...I could be wrong, but that's what it looked like to me.

it looks interesting, but probably not for me. yeh, no.

My only issue with this is the "Oh ?.." factor and a DAO non safety weapon...If you're in a deadly force required situation and your adrenaline is pumping... You'd better be pretty careful when grabbing that thing... But, I guess ya could say that about any gun in any placement but they're usually not potentially pointing right at your chest... Unless your carrying a shoulder rig... Heck okay too many variants... But I'm still not sold on it for the wife... I'll see what she says and let ya know.

As you said, being "careful" applies to ALL modes of carry.

but they're usually not potentially pointing right at your chest... Unless your carrying a shoulder rig... Heck okay too many variants..
I don't see that either mode of carry would have your weapon pointed at your chest (whether holstered or during the draw stroke). It would be possible to "cover" your weak-side arm if you didn't execute a proper draw.

Great post. Not often do I find two of my favorite interests in one post. Maybe if she was leaning on a Grand Sport Corvette at the shooting range it could have been even better.

I would have to agree keeping the finger off the trigger as she was going for the gun would be very important.

I believe that, for safety reasons, she only had one cartridge loaded for each demonstration.

Grand Sport Corvette. I think I'll stick with a Z06 twin turbo though :)

Excaliber wrote:Check out this that shows the potential of a new concealed carry rig for the ladies.

It'll work best with tiny guns (mostly .380 and below), but is revolutionary in its concept as far as I know.

The draw and fire times achievable with it are impressive, and the unique draw stroke would probably not be recognized as such until the weapon is brought into play.

Availability may be limited at this point, but it appears to be worth watching.
It is very interesting. I would think that this design could be modified and adapted to an Over-The-Chest carry for men.

It would look similar to the rig in the link that AndyC posted:

This type of holster could make for an awkward moment if an LEO has to disarm the carrier.
