probably because Glock feels that a rail would be pointless on such a small pistol. As a company they have a history of ignoring customer input that goes against their idea of perfection.

That's why you buy an xd... obviously.

Personally I love my XDm compact. A little longer barrel (match grade at that),but the grip is actually a little shorter than the xd sub-compact.

I could see it occasionally... bedside use for one.
For those that cannot afford more than one gun, the G26 is more than capable of playing a good carry role as well as the bedside gun. You can even stick in the 31 round magazine while on night stand duty... so while a 31 round magazine may seem like putting a rear spoiler on a FWD car (another thing that drives me nuts), so would a tac light for a G26 in this scenario.

I like the 30, but reality, it's closer to the size of a G19/23/32 than a 26/27/33 in frame size. Plus, if you consider this as one gun for someone, there's a good chance ammo cost is a factor, and the 9mm is 50% cheaper.

Just sayin... I can see a case for a rail on a G26. I have a G26, 19, and 32, so I don't need the rail, but I could see where some would.

ps - I hate the Fast/Furious thing... it's horrid and as a real enthusiast, it makes my stomach turn. My sedan with 10 cylinders usually doesn't get much attention on the road, but when at the track, it surprises many imports.

I guess this is just me speaking from a bias, since I have no problem concealing a glock this size. especially considering how skinny I am (6'3 190 lbs) I couldn't see how it would be any harder for anyone with the same/bigger build would not be able to conceal a glock in this frame year around, even if it is getting hot down here in Houston....

and yea, the fast and the delerious are always fun to race. A v10 sedan? What car are you driving if you don't mind me asking?

Even though Glock 9mm models have been mostly reliable, it is known that other bigger caliber Glocks to have reliability issues with rail attachments, thus the reason for Gen 4 Glocks.

Oakland PD recently recalled all their Gen 4 Glock .40's due to reliability issue with attachments. Personally, I'd not want to attach anything to a Glock. The G26 is good as it is for me.

I hear ya. I am 6'0'' 180, and carry a G32 or 19 all the time. I think if you're heavier, it's actually more difficult than when you're skinnier like us, but could be wrong.

The rail on the m&p c was the deciding factor for between the baby glock and the m&p. Despite my humerous and sarcastic (to me anyways) username, I traded a G22 to help fund a smaller, more concealable gun when I applied for my CHL. So for me that gun is my carry, range and field gun. Whenever I still get to make trips up to my friends lease for a weekend of fun, I have a cheap field holster than accepts it with a cheap light or laser. I also use the laser at home to practise drawing and aiming from the hip, trying to develop muscle memory for where I should point if I can't extend to fire in a SD scenerio. Though I don't use anything on it as a bedside gun, since I have a Stinger flashlight beside it, it's more reliable to me than the cheap attachments. Just my .02, but yes I really wish glock had a rail on the small'ens, and I would've bought one instead.

Back on topic..... So it seems the op needs a G30

Has a rail, holds the same amount of .45 acp as the 26 does in 9mm, and isn't THAT much bigger. If I could only have one handgun, I would probably choose the G30. Great for self defense against 2 legged critters, and not a bad round for the wild with the simple change of recoil springs to shoot .45 super.
