Witness 9mm magazine problems
Just got a EAA Witness 9mm compact. Excellent gun except one problem. On the factory 10 round mag the rounds nosedive BAD! we tried extending the mag spring and bent up the end of spring under the follower. Did it even worse. Trying to find mags for these are tough. Any suggestions? I was told to contact Able Ammo in Conroe, but the guy couldn't tell me if the mags they had in stock were factory or aftermarket. Apparently the factory mags are junk. The guy who told me to contact Ables said to get the mags with the black follower(aftermarket). Conroe is over an hour away from me. I'd hate to waste the trip just to find out it's the factory mags. Any help?

What is your factory follower? If it is steel then call Ables back and ask if the ones they have in stock have the BLACK follower.BKnight wrote:I was told to contact Able Ammo in Conroe, but the guy couldn't tell me if the mags they had in stock were factory or aftermarket.

I called Ables and the guy said he had no way of knowing what color the follower is....
Re: Witness 9mm magazine problems
I called Ables back, talked to a different dude and he's gonna do some research and get back with me. Update to follow

Re: Witness 9mm magazine problems
Did some checking around and found one discussion where many people received factory mags with the spring in the mag inserted upside down! Causing the same malfunction you described. They reported that turning the spring around in the mag corrected the problem.
Another option may be Wolff Replacement mag springs (+5%).

Re: Witness 9mm magazine problems
Abels have the mags with the black followers. $34 shipped. Those new mag springs seem like a good idea also. I think I'll get one for the defective mag I have. Then I'll have three!
Re: Witness 9mm magazine problems
Turns out the mags fron Abels DO NOT have the black followers. Only factory eaa mags. Cancelled the order. Goin to cdnn for the Meg par mags.
