What 9mm to get?

What 9mm to get?
Allright, time to debate. I am about to get another new 9mm. This will be my last one for a long time( I promised). It will also be my primary carry weapon. I REALLY like the 1911 style. Any thoughts on which brand to purchase? I'd like to keep it around 1k for the gun( less is better). I like the Colt defender as well as Kimber's ultra carry. Also one by SW caught my eye, but I don't remember the model. I'm open to all suggestions. I already have a eaa witness, but it seems a little heavy for everyday carry. Any thoughts, comments or suggestions?

Though some like it, I would never carry my SS Colt Defender, in spite of it's size and dependibility. It's a range toy and home protection. It's a little brick (too heavy). It feels great, is accurate as the day is long, but it's a chunk. The LW Commander might be an option, or you might look at the Springfield EMP Enhanced Micro. The new Kimber Solo (http://www.kimberamerica.com/solo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) is an option you might research before considering.
In any event, you might also consider the SIG P239 (my backup). With the SIG NS, SRT kit, a nice IWB (I would suggest the Texas Tucker or Supertuck), you'll be out of pocket around $750 and have plenty of change left for ammo.

Look around and try to find a "lightly used" Springer EMP in 9mm.
Excellent little gun for carry. How do I know? I own one!
If you could go 90.00 more than your limit of 1000.00 then you can get a brand new one:

I will throw in another vote for the EMP. I got mine this January and absolutely love it. I got mine used for $840. I think it was one of the best deal I ever made.

The Colt Defender weighs less than the EMP.

Welp...shows my ignorance. Never owned an EMP, so didn't look up the specs. If you like 1911s, you might consider looking at a Browning Hi Power . . . I frequently carry a Mk III BHP myself.

I suggest the Ruger SR9C. It's a great 9mm gun for cc.

Re: What 9mm to get?
A buddy of mine got the EMP not too long ago. He did not intend it to be his carry gun, that is until he took it to the range a couple times. The EMP managed to take the place of his beloved Sig as his EDC. It is a really nice gun and I sure wouldn't mind adding one to my collection. I played around with it and the weight did not bother me. It seemed to be a very sweet shooter and ultra easy to conceal. I don't think you would be disappointed if you went that route.
